I want to study journalism from Chandigarh University? Is it a good university for studying journalism?

No idea about Journalism at CU, however, I can provide info about LPU. School of Journalism and Film Production, LPU, is a leading teacher education institution in northern India. The school offers courses from journalism, TV and film industries from Bachelors to doctorate level. The courses are recognised by UGC. The School has an enriched library with huge stock of books, reference materials and journals (print, electronic as well as online), and modern lab facilities to support teaching, learning and research. The School follows professional curriculum in its academic programmes. It also holds seminars and conferences at national and international levels. The students are also provided with mandatory curricular inputs as employment enhancement activities to prepare and clear competitive tests The curriculum is modelled on UGC framework with added focus on strengthening communication skills, life skills training and professional enhancement for better employability. Training for entrepreneurship in the field of education is given focus. Students get opportunities to participate in field based learning experiences and national reconstruction activities. Some highlights:- -Internationally accepted degree-Exposure to real situations through in-house and external visits. -Manual as well as computerized designing skills. -Practical hands-on training - Production process: From Pre-production to post production - In-house initiatives of YTV and newspaper - Practical training in labs and studios: Sound Studio, Video studio, Photography studio, Computer lab - Course Content: acting, direction, script writing, storyboard, cinematography, video editing, sound designing, Photography, Documentary film making, Film Marketing. LPU provides a great academic exposure to its students. It provides a chance to the students to attend guest lectures or workshops, so that they get to learn as much as they can. The students also work on live projects, so that they are able to apply their knowledge to practical settings. It is one of the few that has embraced international practices when it comes to designing a curriculum. Therefore I believe LPU is good in all the aspects.
