To be able to get admission into the CAT participating colleges, students first need to qualify for the exam with a good percentile and then appear for the counselling process. Each CAT participating college may specify its selection criteria. The new IIMs conduct centralized admissions based on CAT scores, known as the IIM Common Admission Process (CAP). However, the old IIMs conduct their admission process independently.
The eligibility criteria for selection into CAT 2023 participating colleges include a bachelor's degree from a recognized body with a minimum of 50% marks and a valid scorecard of the CAT exam. However, the requirements may vary as per the institute and course one is applying to. For admission into top IIMs and other premier institutes, a candidate must score 98+ CAT percentile.
