Taking to Twitter, students have begun demanding that the best of either terms (subject-wise) shall be considered for calculation of results. Himanshu Bohra, President of AIJNSA, has worte to the board for the same. Know more here.

CBSE Result 2022

CBSE Result 2022: As is known, this year due to the pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education split its annual board exams into two terms for both 10th and 12th. While the evaluation process is still underway, students have taken to Twitter in a demand for the best marks of either term to be considered for the calculation of the overall result.

Although the board has declared Term 1 results to the respective schools, the weightage distribution for Term 1 and Term 2 is not determined. Earlier, private schools had requested CBSE to reduce Term 1 weightage by 20-30% but, in the recent demands made by students and parents alike, it is being said that the 30-70 or 20-80 weightage distribution is unfair.

CBSE students have long argued that the pandemic has hindered their studies as the entire teaching-learning model was shifted online and students faced many problems while learning. In addition to this, both the term exams were conducted offline with Term 1 papers being particularly difficult. The change in exam pattern will also affect the final result, say students.

As an aid to the CBSE students, Himanshu Bohra, President of All India JEE-NEET Students Association (AIJNSA), submitted a request to consider “Best of Either Terms” marks to the CBSE Board. As per this method, subject-wise marks of each term would be compared and the higher of the two (multiplied by 2) will be considered for calculation of the overall result. For example, a student achieves 30 marks in Term 1 and 34 Marks in Term 2 theory papers, the total marks of both terms would be 34 x 2 (= 68 out of 80) instead of 30 + 34 (= 64 out of 80).

The detailed copy of the request made by the AIJNSA president can be checked here:

Although this seems like a good option, it is unlikely to be considered by the board. In fact, the exact weightage distribution between the terms has not yet been revealed by the board. Aside from the Best of Either Terms demand, students were also seen demanding high weightage to internal assessment marks. For now, CBSE has made no statement regarding the weightage distribution and will mostly do so along with the declaration of the results.

CBSE Board 2022 Result is likely to be declared by the first week of July 2022. To increase the speed and accuracy of the evaluation process, CBSE has colour-coded the papers along with increasing the evaluation staff and centres. Each answer sheet will also be inter-checked by another evaluator to avoid totaling and miscalculation errors.
