Students of Poornima College of Engineering are not only learning theoretical concepts but also implementing them practically. This they proved practically also when a group of six students of final year (Poornima College of Engineering, Jaipur) made an “Economic Helicopter”.
It has been named Ababeel which is a name of a bird known for its speed and flight. Dr. Om Prakash Sharma, Director, PCE informed that 6 students of Mechanical Department have made this helicopter which is 6 feet long equipped with 16 H.P. and 3600 R.P.M. engine.The helicopter has been designed as per the sitting capacity of one person and it can fly with a weight of 190 Kilogram.

- Shailesh Kumar (Bihar)
- Utsah Bathiya (Delhi)
These students have completed their B.Tech. Education from PCE, Jaipur. The students had an idea of Ababeel in 2nd Year and since then they had been studying about the same. By using their knowledge, help of faculties and researching the rest on the internet, they finally they made it possible. Various parts of the helicopter were designed through AutoCAD and made in house lab of department Mechanical Engineering.
This helicopter may be useful in different purposes like:
- Agriculture
- Army
- During Emergency and natural calamity.
The management of PCE supported a lot in making of this helicopter and Mr. Shailendra Kasera (HOD, Mechanical Engineering), Mr. Ram Murari Sharma and other team members led this project successfully.
