High-Level Panel set up to Reform Higher Education in Delhi

The prominent think tank or advisory panel that guides the Delhi government on major issues, the Dialogue and Development Commission (DDC) has created a committee consisting 17 members to revamp the higher education facilities in Delhi. The committee, headed by Jasmine Shah, vice-chairman of DDC will execute plans within a year for reforming the education system.

Nalanda 2.0, a non-profit policy think tank to reform India's higher education will be the knowledge partner of DDC for this initiative. The committee has been formed with eminent education personalities such as Arindam Bhattacharya, Senior Partner and Director of BGC; Pramod Bhasin, Founder of Genpact and co-founder of Ashoka University; Gaurav Khanna, Assistant Professor, Economics in UC San Diego, Devesh Kapur, Director of Asia Programs and Professor, Johns Hopkins University to name a few.

As suggested by the deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, the initiative will contribute immensely to take the education system in Delhi to another level and will help in competing with the level globally.

Sisodia also said that in the past few years, Delhi has been in the limelight for the innovations in the education sector-be it the government schools or infrastructure development, teacher training initiatives, and the recent entrepreneurship curriculum. The idea behind this initiative is to make Delhi a knowledge and innovation center where some of the best talent in the world can coexist.
