The HRD (Human Resource Development) ministry has recently asked the state education boards to give importance to the revaluation applications of Class 12 students who aspire to become an engineer so that they get an equal chance in India's top engineering colleges including IITs.
According to media reports, there have been instances where after the revaluation, students' scores have improved, affecting their overall ranking. If the revaluation of Class 12 papers of engineering aspirants is delayed, they miss the opportunity to secure admission to reputed colleges.

In a meeting held by the ministry, the states ordered to declare the results before May 31 so that admissions to engineering colleges could not delay. Millions of students appear for JEE entrance examination every year for obtaining admission to NITS and other centrally-funded colleges.
