Lucknow University to Award Rs. 3 Lakh Prize Money for Contribution to Swachh Bharat Mission

Lucknow University to Award Rs. 3 Lakh Prize Money for Contribution to Swachh Bharat Mission

The University of Lucknow will rank its 43 departments according to their contribution to the Swachh Bharat Mission. The varsity will also rank the departments as per their academic performance. On May 11, 2017, the varsity released the mechanism of ranking. The varsity will send the parameters to the 43 departments through faculty deans.

The best department in academic performance and contribution towards Swachh Bharat Mission will get a cash prize if Rs. 3 lakh. The second and third ranked departments will get Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 1,00,000 cash prize.

Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University, Mr. S.P Singh revealed that the varsity would judge each department on 1,000 points that are set for various parameters. All the departments must secure at least a 75% mandatory score.

Now, it is essential for all the departments to fulfill the cleanliness parameter. If the departments fail to do so, they will be marked as a failure in the report card. After the assessment, the rankings of each department will be uploaded on the official website of Lucknow University.

A committee constituted by the varsity will carry out the assessment process. Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University, Mr. S.P Singh is the head of the committee. The committee will take the final decision after the assessment process.

Besides cleanliness, the committee will assess the departments in the following areas: -

  • Optimum use of technology and innovation in the classroom
  • Co-curricular activity participation
  • Research
  • Number of courses closed due to lack of performance
  • Job placement
  • Attendance
  • Academic excellence
