“NiT Jewels” the Annual Day celebration was organised at the heart of NIT. It was observed in a glorified way and the entire programme showcased the essence of Narula Institute of Technology. The award ceremony started with the rendering performance of our musical stalwarts and with the heartiest best wishes from the honourable Principal of NiT, Prof (Dr) M R Kanjilal. The aim of the event was to honour and recognise the excellence of our students, faculty members and staff who have contributed towards the tremendous success of the Institution in multifarious fields.
In this ceremony with pride and glory the college awarded the students for four categories: Academic Excellence, Technical Innovation, Cultural Exuberance and Sports Calibre. In the Academic Excellence category, all the academic toppers across all the streams were awarded for their brilliant academic performances.
In the Technical Innovation category which was a part of the Annual Techno-Management Fest - Kritanj 2k16 there were Winners of Project Display from our college and also from notable schools of the area. St Augustine from Barrackpore, Nimta High School and students from many other renowned schools enthusiastically participated in our project competition. They exhibited a lot of interest and inquisitiveness, as their little minds got an opportunity to bring out their inherent technical potential. In the Sports category awards were given to the Sports enthusiasts for their spectacular performance in the Annual Athletic Meet 2016 and Intra college tournaments. In the Cultural Exuberance category awards were conferred on the students for winning the cultural competitions in Annual Cultural Fest- Navodaya 2k16.
They believe, all the programmes in NiT are successful for the relentless effort of the college's wonderful secretaries of the different clubs under Student Life Centre and also for the able leadership qualities of the two coordinators of the Student Life Centre. Their enthusiasm and zeal are awe - inspiring and their commendable contribution have given an extra mileage to the institution. All these ever energetic students have conferred a special category of an award in this wonderful gathering for their unparallel contribution to the Institution.
A special category of award was also conferred on the cultural pioneers of NiT based on the consistency of their contribution within the college and also for representing the institute in several events outside the campus for the last four years. They have opened a new chapter in NiT besides their academics. Their performance revitalises our incessant urge to add new dimension to the life of our budding technocrats.
The journey of NiT started in 2001 and today the college has completed more than a decade in the Technical Education Field. The spectrum of colours has illumined their dynamic performances and this would not have been possible without the effort of the “Stalwarts of NiT” who has been with the college almost from the inception.The college authorities have taken this opportunity to felicitate those faculty and staff members who proudly proclaim the cultural heritage of NiT.
The most awaited award, the “College Blue”, NiT Jewel, the most attractive part of the show was finally conferred on Mr. Faiz Nawaz, 4th year, Department of Civil Engineering; a man with attitude, tremendous sense of responsibility and charismatic personality.
An award ceremony is incomplete without cultural performances. Final showstoppers of the day were the cultural pioneers of NiT : Rahul Sinha, Subhankar Paul, Dipanjan Dutta Roy, Subhojit Dey, Kaustav Ghosh, Sudip Dey, Biswarup Banerjee, Tanmoy Roy, Rudraneel Barik, Sujoy Ghosh and Soumyadeep Das Gupta. They made the Annual Award Ceremony – “NiT Jewels” truly mesmerising.
The award function was organised to motivate our beloved students and staff, to enliven the life force of Narula and to strengthen the bond of our teacher-student fraternity. They create minds, build personality, rise against the odds and invent the crossroads of innovation. The programme ends with this insightful thought and with a note of optimism for a better and brighter tomorrow.
Last but not the least Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering was awarded a special admiration award as Best Department for their creativity, innovation and exploration.
