SSC asks Punjab government for MTS exam

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has requested the Punjab government to provide assistance in ensuring foolproof security at the examination centres for the Multi Tasking Staff Examination (Non-Technical) of 2019. The SSC took this step of soliciting the help of the government of Punjab out of its concern about the vulnerability of malpractices related to exams.

The Chairman of SSC, Ashim Khurana, wrote a letter to Karan Avtar Singh, the Punjab Chief Secretary, saying that the exam is vulnerable to candidates resorting to some exam related malpractices, based on past experience. Hence, it is needless to emphasise on the need for ensuring arrangements that prevent these malpractices from being executed.

However, the Commission requests the assistance of the district/ state administration for ensuring that the security around the exam centres is foolproof and for preventing any untoward situation of law and order. The Chairman also requested to have uninterrupted power supply at all exam centres.

The Multi Tasking Staff Examination will be conducted for the recruitment of Group C employees and it will be taken in eight centres across six cities- Bathinda, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, and Mohali. It will be conducted between 2nd August 2019 to 22nd August 2019 and over 1.5 lakh candidates will appear for this exam.
