From last two years MLSU (Mohan Lal Sukhadia University) Udaipur has been planned to implement Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). More than half posts are empty approved by university on other side, due to constituent colleges not being in the same campus, UGS’s ambitious plan CBCS has been stuck which was planned for new session starting from July.
Peoples who are associated with university said that like last year, university will not be able to implement CBCS. It’s interesting that, in last year, university had several meetings for CBCS, due to dumps of the responsible persons and due to vacant posts CBCS applicable only in Science College at PG level.
According to UGC’s rule, there must be arrangements of departments on university level, while PG level courses coordinated by colleges in Sukhadia University. Years had been passed after university establishment but still departmental systems have not been implemented.PG level courses are going to taught in four constituent colleges. Colleges are not in same campus is also a problem for CBCS.
UGC’s ordered to implement CBCS in university for improving the quality of higher education and to bring vividness in study. ABCS system, student can choose one subject on PG or UG level of his/her interest from different faculties in which he/she is not studying.
Such as, a student who was doing his/her PG/UG in Art faculty can choose one subject of his/her interest from faculty of Science or from faculty of science. Under CBCS system, there is also an arrangement of degree for the subject you choose only if you will get pass in particular subject.
Vice chancellor of MLSU, Prof. I. V. Trivedi said that we already sent a letter to government for implementing department system in university. We implemented CBCS in faculty of Science and will try to implement in other faculties as soon as possible, but hitch is coming due to shortage of teaching faculties.
