Telangana TASK Signs MoU with Singapore-based University to Offer New Courses

TASK (The Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge) has collaborated with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Singapore to offer a Certificate course for graduate engineering students in Aviation Cyber Security. In 2016, TASK had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Embry-Riddle for promoting skill development to students pursuing degree courses in Aeronautical Studies. Now, both TASK and Embry-Riddle are planning to launch a Certificate course in Aviation Cyber Security.

Eric Leong of Embry-Riddle visited TASK on April 24, 2018. On this occasion, he pointed that there is a lack of skilled people with necessary cybersecurity skills in the Aeronautical Industry. The proposed certificate course will make aeronautical engineering graduates more employable, he explained.

Eric Leong is the Manager of Professional Education and Training at Embry-Riddle University. He was in Telangana along with an instructor Kim-Chua for conducting in-classroom training for 20 engineering students for their final evaluations and presentations of a four-week coursework in technical writing.

After Embry-Riddle and TASK signed MoU, a course in technical writing was the first one to be offered free of cost. The technical writing course was designed to improve competence among the students in this genre of writing.

During the technical writing course and training, students were also trained in the process of making presentations of their projects. Many students who participated in the training programme expressed their satisfaction. One of the significant things that the students learnt during the course was not to plagiarise. Instead, the students have learnt the way to write for different audiences and different requirements of project reports.
