TNTET 2022 Exam Date and Admit Card will be soon released by the Government of Tamil Nadu's Teachers Recruitment Board on its official website, trb.tn.nic.in. Candidates who have applied for TNTET 2022 Exam can download their admit card from the official website of the TN Board. TN Admit Card 2022 will be released few days before the date of TNTET examination. Candidates must note that the eligibility criteria for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are different, both of which are stated in the articles below.

One of the necessary prerequisites for an aspirant to be appointed as a teacher in any public school in Tamil Nadu is that the candidate has to qualify for the TNTET 2022. TNTET will be administered by the state government in compliance with the NCTE rules.

TNTET 2022 Exam at both Primary (Paper 1) and Upper Primary (Paper 2) Level has 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying one mark each, while the duration of both the papers will be 180 minutes (3 hours).

TNTET 2022 Eligibility: Minimum Educational Qualification for Paper 1

If a candidate meets any of the four below-mentioned criteria, they will be considered eligible to take the TNTET Paper 1 (Primary Level: Class 1 to Class 5) Examination 2022:

  1. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  2. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
  3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

TNTET 2022 Eligibility: Minimum Educational Qualification for Paper 2

If a candidate meets any of the seven below-mentioned criteria, they will be considered eligible to take the TNTET Paper 2 (Upper Primary Level: Class 6 to Class 8) Examination 2022:

  1. Graduation and passed OR appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
  3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.
  4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  5. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.
  6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).
  7. Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. the program, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TNTET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11/02/2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TNTET.

TNTET 2022 Eligibility: Age Limit

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • There is no maximum age limit.

TNTET 2022 Application Form

From 14th March 2022 to 13th April 2022, the TNTET 2022 Application Form will be available at trb.tn.nic.in. The application must be submitted through online means only. The following are the steps to completing the online application form:

  • Visit the official website of the TN TRB @trb.tn.nic.in.
  • Next, select the paper for which the candidate wants to apply i.e., Paper 1 or Paper 2.
  • After clicking on the respective link, a new tab will open showing the TNTET Application Form 2022.
  • Fill in the requisite fields with the candidate's personal, academic, and other information asked.
  • Scan and upload the candidate's signature and photos in JPG/JPEG/PNG format.
  • The photos should be between 20 kB to 60 kB in size, and the candidate's signature should be between 10 kB to 30 kB in size.
  • Pay the application cost as per the category i.e., INR 250/- for SC/ST/SCA/Physically Disabled and INR 500/- for others.
  • Click on the 'Submit' button after rechecking all the information to be correct.
