Union Minister Favours Technical Education in Other Regional Languages

Vijay Sampla, Union Minister on Wednesday expressed that technical education should be imparted in regional languages providing the rural students who lack knowledge of English to match the level as this puts them at a disadvantage when compared with the urban students.

Sampla said that the youngsters belonging to the rural areas pursuing technical courses are not able to compete with their urban counterparts. He added that local language plays an important role for the same.

The Union Minister for social justice of the state while addressing an academicians gathering from various colleges and business community members at the 6th All India Technical and Management Council (AITMC) Summit said that students of rural areas or suburban areas are not able to understand English in the same way as one is not able to understand any other foreign language.

Sampla thus proposed to impart technical education in regional languages as a solution to this problem with an aim to bring every student on the same level.

Tarun Chugh - BJP National Secretary said that it can be seen from the history of India that our people in diverse fields had made so many innovations without any required training. He appreciated their skills and the guidance they have received from their previous generations. He further added that India with its major population comprising of youngsters, needs to train every youth to be skilled.

The summit discussed the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Vikas Yojana and the All India Council for Technical Education’s (AICTE) role in it. Also, AICTE and the labor ministry signed a MoU on national career service. The chairman of AICTE, Anil Sahasrabudhe was also present at the summit.
