14 students from the Seelampur slums have secured admission in one of the leading universities of India - the University of Delhi.

The efforts of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) named Asha Society in the Seelampur area has brought smiles to the faces and hearts of a number of young students who dream to make it big one day.

Asha is an NGO, that has been working towards educating the children of the area in order to equip them to pursue their higher education goals.

With the admission season in full swing, it is known that so far, 14 students from the Seelampur slums have secured admission in one of the leading universities of India - the University of Delhi.

It is interesting to note that out the 14 students who have been granted admission in DU, 12 of them are girl students.

Nearly 80 students from Seelampur area had appeared for class 12th examinations this year. Out of these, 12 scored more than 80% in the senior secondary examinations and passed with flying colors making their families proud.

These students have opted for courses like B.A Programme, language courses etc. and have successfully grabbed a seat in the DU colleges.

Delhi University had received more than 2.5 lakh applications from students seeking admissions in its prestigious colleges.
