Haryana Government Schools to Get Free Coaching for NTSE Exam

Haryana has directed it's district’s education department to provide free coaching to meritorious students of the government school. The coaching will help them be well prepared and crack the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE).

Haryana Government Schools to Get Free Coaching for NTSE Exam

Haryana School education directorate has instructed the education department to provide free coaching to meritorious students so that they can crack the NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) test. NTSE is a national level scholarship exam for the students of class 10 which is organized by the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) which is designed to recognize the worth of the meritorious students.

The exam will be held at two levels- state level and national level. At both levels, students are evaluated on different topics which include (MAT) the Mental Ability and (SAT) the Scholastic Aptitude Test. The 1st Level of the exam is expected to take place in the month of November.

According to the reports, the lack of awareness and resources has prevented the student from taking the exam in the past In order to encourage the students, the department will provide free coaching sessions on both Saturday and Sunday till the day of examinations. Students with a score of more than 60% can enter the NTSE examinations while the free coaching test is screened.

Sushil Gaur, Educational Block Officer said that the main aim of the government is to provide a conducive environment to the students for the examination. NTSE can grant scholarship to the students until they get their doctorate degrees. The state has no lack of talent and the students just need to be nurtured. Initiatives like free coaching can help students to achieve a good score in the NTSE exam said by the Gaur.

He also said that in the NTSE examination around 99% of students are from the private schools. Until now, not many students from government school are unable to participate in the same due to lack of resources. Thus the departmental dealt the concern through the free coaching interventions. Satyanarayana Yadav, a teacher of physics in the district, said that deserving students had to be encouraged to join the NTSE. He also said that this will increase the inclination of students in STEM subjects. He further informed that the Sector 4/7 Urban Estate, Government Model Senior Secondary School would serve as a coaching centre in the city.
