IIM Bangalore hosted the Artificial Intelligence Day at its campus in collaboration with IBM Research India.IM Bangalore is also introducing an MBA program in Business Analytics from 2020. It will be a disciplinary program.
IIM Banglore DCAL Lab (Data Centre and Analytics Lab) collaborated with the IBM Research, India organised AI Day at IIMB campus. The theme of the Research AI Day was- ‘Usable Artificial Intelligence’. Many eloquent speakers from industry and academic were a part of this discussion. Activities such as panel discussion, quizzes, workshops, and tutorials were a part of the event. The main agenda of these activities was to showcase the current trends in the AI industry.
A book launch of Machine Learning using Python written by Professor U Dinesh Kumar & Professor Manaranjan Pradhan also took place during the event. The book comprises of a balanced strategy between theoretical knowledge and practical applications. The book covers various topics such as Foundations of Machine Learning, Introduction of Python, Advanced Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Prescriptive Analytics, Text Analytics, and Recommender Systems.

During the launch of the book, Professor U Dinesh Kumar also said that The era of technology is upon us and now it's changing the way we live. The technology has changed our lives entirely and reduced the human effort and this has been possible through automation. According to him, what makes this book interesting is that it includes real-world examples
From 2020 academic year, IIM Bangalore will offer an MBA course in Business Analytics. It will be a multidisciplinary program designed to equip students to solve business problems. MBA in Business Analytics will equip students with skills to identify and define problems with the help of analytical tools. This will also improve their decision-making abilities and to develop business strategies.
