The third phase of admissions for the UG courses in Telangana under Degree Online Services (DOST) concluded on June 30, 2018. After the end of counselling, the authorities figured out that 43-degree colleges across the state failed to attract even a single student for the academic session 2018-19.
Out of the 1,045 degree colleges in Telangana, 88 colleges enrolled less than 25 students, while 234 colleges enrolled less than 100 students. As per admission rules, colleges must enroll at least 40% students to run a course. The statistics clearly indicate that these colleges are not eligible to run the courses due to poor enrolment.
