UIPS is all set to begin the training course for its faculty members. The course will cover several topics of personal as well as professional growth.
The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) of Panjab University, will be organizing a faculty training session on ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’. This training will be a week long, starting on 8th April 2019 and ending on 13th April 2019. It will be done under the initiative of Networking Resource Centre of UGC.
This training session can be attended via 20 selected faculty members which will represent 10 states across India. During the course, models for transforming innovative and inspiring ideas for entrepreneurial startups are going to be discussed. Critical areas such as validation, ideation, regulatory compliances, proof of thought, and approvals will be discussed by experts.

The course will also dwell upon different ways in which the required financial banking can be secured. The special skills required to become a successful entrepreneur like problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, negotiation, teamwork, flexibility, leadership, and communication will also be covered.
The inauguration of the programme will be done by the Director of the Institute of Nano Science and Technology of Mohali, Professor Hirendra N Ghosh, in the presence of the Registrar of Panjab University, Professor Karamjeet Singh.
The programme coordinator of this UGC- Networking Resource Centre programme is Professor Kanwaljit Chopra, who is the Chairperson of the said institute. Professor Indu Pal Kaur of UIPS will be the coordinator of the training course and Dr. Vandita Kakkar of UIPS is going to be the joint coordinator.

The sessions will begin with a lecture given by Dr. Rohit Sharma, the Chief Coordinator and Project Leader of the Cluster Innovation Centre in Biotechnology and BioNEST belonging to the Panjab University in Chandigarh. It will comprise discussion and interaction about several startups working at BioNEST. Post lunch, Dr. Manmohan Singh Gill, who is the technical specialist at PDS, Contract Pharmaceuticals Limited in Canada, and also an alumnus of UIPS, will give a plenary lecture. It will be followed by a lecture that will be given by the Ex-Associate Director of the Physics Group, and the Head of Technical Physics Division at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, Dr. Jatinder V Yakhmi.
