The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under the Ministry of Education (MoE) has released the online application for the four-year integrated teacher education programme (ITEP). All eligible candidates can apply from 1st May to 31st May by visiting the official website- ncte.gov.in.
Candidates who choose teaching as a career after their secondary education can apply for the dual-major bachelor's programmes namely- BA B.Ed, BSc B.Ed, and BCom B.Ed. The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) to provide admission into various multidisciplinary central and state government institutions and universities across the nation.

The official statement said, "The multidisciplinary Central/State Government Universities/Institutions may submit the online application for being recognized for the 4 Year ITEP shall apply from 1st to 31st May 2022 (till 11:59 p.m.). Please visit https://ncte.gov.in/ITEP for more information".
The course has been designed by NCTE as per NEP 2020. It enables a student-teacher to get a degree in education as well as in a specialized stream. ITEP will not only offer cutting-edge education but also establish a foot in early childhood care and education (ECCE), inclusive education, foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), and an understanding of India and its values, art, ethos, tradition, among others.
The ministry also added that this integrated course will be beneficial for students as it will save a year by finishing the course in four years as regular graduation and B.Ed course requires 5-years.

Their exact words were, "The 4 Year ITEP is a milestone achievement in fulfilling one of the major mandates of National Education Policy 2020. The course will contribute substantially to the revitalization of the whole teacher education sector."
