HP Judicial Services Exam 2020

The Government of Himachal Pradesh accepts the applications for the state Judicial Service Competitive Examination 2020. The last date to fill up the applications was January 5, 2020. As per the official exam schedule, the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services Prelims was held on March 1, 2020. The Mains exam will be conducted from November 25, 2020 - November 28, 2020. 

All the candidates who are willing to take up the exam can submit their applications online on the official website. The minimum eligibility criteria, key highlights, the application process, etc. have been put forward by the Government of Himachal Pradesh for the Judicial Services Exam 2020. HP Judicial Services Exam 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are willing to appear for the examination have to make sure that they meet the following eligibility criteria. Find them below which will decide whether one can get admission to any of the stages of the examination. Only the issue of an admit card can not decide if his/her candidature has been accepted by the Commission.

  • The candidate must be a degree holder in Law as recognised by the Bar Council of India.
  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • The candidate should have a knowledge of the manners, customs, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh as well as the distinct conditions that exist in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
  • The minimum age limit of a candidate is 22 years. the age limit should not exceed more than 25 years. The same should be as on the last date of application, which is January 5, 2020.
  • For SC and OBC Category candidates, the upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years.

Other reserved categories would not be offered any relaxation in age limit except fee.

HP Judicial Services Examination 2020 Examination Fee

The following is the detail of fee for respective categories:

For General Category, the fee is Rs 400 whereas for SC, OBC, and other prescribed reserved categories of HP have to pay an amount of only Rs 100 to sit for the exam.

HP Judicial Services Examination 2020 Application Process

Below-mentioned is the step-wise guide for the process of application for HP Judicial Services Examination 2020:

  • Firstly, the candidate should register as a new user by clicking on 'New user sign up' and fill in all the details that it asks for, like Name, Password, User ID, Date of Birth, etc. then click on 'Create User'.
  • The second step includes the basic registration process wherein particulars like fundamental information, 'Father's/Mother's name, 'Centre', Qualification details, etc. The candidate further needs to upload the required documents and the images of recent Passport Size Photograph and Signature Specimen (should be put on white paper in black ink).
  • You can edit the Application form is needed before the final submission.
  • Candidates can either pay through Debit Card, Net Banking or Credit Card.
  • Finally, the candidates are required to visit the website again to find the application form, download and get a print out of it.

HP Judicial Services Examination 2020 Exam Pattern

Prelims: The preliminary exam is an objective type examination which will consist of three papers of 100 marks each. Each of them will be of one-hour duration which will be held on the same day. Prelims was held on March 1, 2020.

  • Civil-II
  • Criminal Law

Mains: Each mains paper last for a duration of 3 hours. The subject, syllabus and marks for each paper have been provided below.

Personality Test: Only those candidates who have qualified both, Prelims and Mains can appear for the personality test. It is of 150 marks. For the purpose of selection, the marks obtained by a candidate in the personality test will be added to the marks obtained in the Mains exam.
