Karnataka State Open University has introduced modernised training programmes to the state students like - Machine Training, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and etc. Earlier, KSOU just provided distance learning education facility to the student of the state but now students can get the hold of new-age training courses at the university campus.
Many tech firms are presently approaching the University to provide training to students through the distance learning programme. According to Professor S Vidyashankar, Vice-chancellor of KSOU, they have already received a proposal from a firm for the same and the firm is sharing their perspective through presentations and course curricular to the university officials.
Development of the students to seek better employment opportunities is the prime concern of University officials. Tech firms are yet not decided, every proposal would be carefully analysed by KSOU experts. Also, these training programmes are to be of short duration between 3 to 6 months. As per the present data, the programmes will be open not only for engineering students but for all the students.

Availability of Training Course
Training courses will be available to the following students:
- SSLC (Secondary Level School Certificate) Students
- Undergraduate Students
- Post Graduate Students
As the admission date for UG and PG admissions has been extended by KSOU, students can now apply for the training course along with it. However, the university is looking into the number of new-age training courses that can be provided to students.
