Delhi University officials said cut-offs are going to be higher than last year as a large number of students have scored above 95% in CBSE class 12 exams. DU has received 2, 85, 158 applications from CBSE students.
St. Stephen's College has released its highest cutoff at 99.25% for B.A. Hons. The cut has witnessed a sharp increase in Sciences across all courses. According to the reports, the Delhi University cutoff is likely to be higher this year as a large number of students have scored 95% in the CBSE class 12 exam. Most likely, the DU cutoff will increase for all courses this year.
Delhi University has received a maximum of 2,85,128 applications from CBSE Board students this year. St. Stephen's cutoff is higher as compared to last year. The cut-off for BA (Hons) English and BA (Hons) Economics was pegged at 98.75% for those from Commerce background and 99.25% BA (Hons) Economics. This year the cutoff for the course is higher by 0.25% for Commerce and Science students.

According to experts, the high cutoff of St. Stephen's College has set a bar for other Delhi University colleges. This indicates that the cut-offs are going to be on the higher side this year as the number of students scoring 95% and above is very high. Shobha Bagai, Dean (Admissions), DU informed that the DU Cutoff 2020 will be released after 12th October. The schedule has already been sent to the administration. The Cut-off Schedule for DU Admissions 2020 will be released in the coming week.
Anju Srivastava, Principal of Hindi College informed St. Stephen's has a lot of restrictions and riders which other colleges do not have. The number of students scoring 95% is high and to limit the admissions the cutoffs will be kept high.
Manoj Khanna, Principal of Ramjas College said approximation has to be followed. The DU cutoffs will be higher in the first and second list as compared to the last year. Also, with the COVID-19 crisis, colleges cannot have over admissions as they have to maintain social distancing.
