National Institute of Technology, Raipur (Formerly Known as GCET, Raipur) is an institute of national importance established in 1956. It is one ofthe premier institute in the field of science and technology in Central India. It is situated in the centre of Raipur, capital of Chhattisgarh.
The Electrical Engineering department of NIT Raipur is going to organize Two days Workshop on 18th & 19th March 2016, which has been Titled as "Power Electronics For Green Energy".
The Department of Electrical Engineering of NIT Raipur came into existence in 1958. Department of Electrical Engineering aims at imparting the state of the art of knowledge and skills to the students inthe field of electrical engineering and to mould them to become successful intellectuals of the society. The department provides an outstanding research environment and offers academic programs leading to the award of B.Tech, M.Tech. and Ph.D. degree.
OBJECTIVES of the Workshop :
The objective of this workshop is to exchange the knowledge and views of green energy utilisation with power electronics application,among the experts from industry and reputed academic institutes with the faculty members,research scholars, young scientists and postgraduate students of various organizations.
The objective of the programme is also to provide a best platform to come out with optimized solution in eco-friendly access of green energy with the help of recent trends and future advancement in the power
electronics.
Workshop Description:
The workshop is proposed to give a thorough exposure to the recent research trends, and analytical analysis in the field of power electronics converters for accessing of energy in eco-friendly manner. Distinguishing features of this programme include:
- Expert talk on field
- Future technological advancement
- Hands-on training and laboratory session
The proposed workshop will provide opportunity to faculty,engineers and utility/industrial personnel to know the latest advances, associated problems and measures to overcome them.
CONTENTS:
The program will be conducted in an interactive environment providing greater scope for discussion. Emphasis will be on a highly participative style of learning

Application in the prescribed format with registration fee in the form of Demand Draft must reach the coordinator on or before 7th March. Selected candidate will be informed by email as per the schedule. Certificates will be issued to the participants only after attending the complete workshop.

The fee has to be paid in the form of non-refundable DD drawn in favour of “Director NIT, Raipur” payable at SBI, GCET Branch,Raipur. The fee includes workshop material,working lunch, tea and snacks.
