Secondary and Higher Education Board, Gujarat has released the notification for Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2017. As per the schedule, the examination will take place on May 11, 2017. The examination is conducted for the admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and non-medical courses for the academic session 2017.
However, the date for the online application submission for GUJCET has not been released and will be announced soon. For the sake of candidates, the examination will be conducted in Gujarati, English and Hindi.

The examination pattern of GUJCET is very simple that the questions will be based on the curriculum of the third and fourth semester. All the questions are MCQ-based and the questions will be given from the subjects Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Forty marks have been allotted to each subject and the time limit is 60 minutes. There will be a combined paper of Chemistry and Physics while there will be a separate paper for Mathematics/ Biology.

Earlier, the Secondary and Higher Education Board of Gujarat used to hold JEE for the admission to various courses. JEE was introduced in 2013. Later, the government replaced JEE with GUJCET for the academic session 2017.
The students who qualify in GUJCET 2017 examination will get admission to engineering/ pharmacy courses in various colleges across the state. The seat allotment is based on merit as the Secondary and Higher Education Board of Gujarat declares the merit list by considering 60% marks secured by candidates in 4 semesters and 40 percentile in Gujarat Common Entrance Test.
