Karnataka Polytechnic Merit List 2020

The Department of Technical Education Karnataka administers the Polytechnic admissions in the state. It operates 170 private, 85 government and 44 subsidised polytechnic colleges apart form 13 government and 9 subsidised engineering colleges. The primary function of the Directorate is to develop technical education to the eligible candidates through technical examinations. The department issues diploma certificates to the students who have passed their Diploma courses. Apart from this, the Department also conducts the examinations for the same.

Karnataka Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria 2020

The eligibility criteria for Karnataka Polytechnic Admission 2020 are listed below. In order to pursue polytechnic in Karnataka, candidates will have to meet the following entry criteria. Upon failing to meet the entry requirements for Karnataka Polytechnic 2020, candidates will not be allowed to apply for the programmes.

  • The candidate should qualify as an Indian citizen.

  • The aspirant should either have passed the Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or an equivalent examination with at least 35 per cent marks.

  • The applicant should have studied in Karnataka from grade 1 for a minimum of 5 years from SSLC or PUC board.

  • As of now, there is no age limit for Karnataka Polytechnic admission 2020.

  • The eligibility criteria for a non-engineering diploma course in Karnataka is quite similar to the criteria mentioned above.

  • For diploma in Modern Office Management, Fabrication and Apparel Design Technology and Commercial Practice, candidates are required to complete SSLC examination or equivalent in Karnataka with at least 35 per cent marks.

  • For Library Science and Information Management, candidates should have scored at least 35 per cent marks aggregate in the secondary PUC examination or equivalent in Karnataka.

Step 2 - Claim ReservationIn the second step, the candidates will have to fill the Claim Special Reservation details such as Rural Study, NCC/ other reservations etc.
Step 3 - Upload DocumentsIn this step, the candidates will have to upload the special reservation certificate, category certificate, Class 10th mark sheet and passport size photograph. Candidates who do not have internet access can visit the helpline centre for registration. 
Step 4 - Choice Filling/ Option EntryIn this step, the candidates will have to choose the colleges and mark priority numbers
Step 5 - District PreferencesThe candidates can choose the district preferences in which he/ she wants to get admission.
Step 6 - Preview Application and submitCrosscheck all the details filled in the application form and submit. 

Karnataka Polytechnic Merit List 2020

The Karnataka Polytechnic merit list 2020 has been released. Once the registration is completed and all the applications have been submitted before the due date, candidates can expect the merit list for Karnataka Polytechnic admissions 2020 to be released any time soon.

Before the publishing of the final merit list, the DTE Karnataka releases a draft merit list. After the draft merit list is released, candidates are provided with a complaint window to file complaints against the released merit list. The final merit list for Karnataka Polytechnic admissions 2020 will release after the authorities consider all the filed complaints.

NOTE: Candidates will be notified about the merit list via SMS at the registered mobile numbers. So, it is important that candidates provide a number (while filling the application form) that they use regularly.

Karnataka Polytechnic Counselling Process 2020

The counselling process for Karnataka Polytechnic admissions 2020 will begin after the merit list for 2020 admissions is released. In the year 2019, the counselling process was conducted in an online mode.

  • Candidates who will make it to the merit list will be called for the Karnataka Polytechnic counselling process 2020.

  • Candidates will be intimated about the day and timing of the process.

  • Eligible students will have to present at the given venue with their parents.

  • The counselling will be done taking into account the merit rank and choices opted by candidates.

  • In the case of SPOT admissions, candidates will have to be present at the centre to report.
