Our Take:

Analyzing the data provided above, it's evident that there's a notable gender disparity in course participation at the Central University of Haryana. Female student representation is considerably lower compared to their male counterparts, falling below the general average. Furthermore, when we break down the demographic representation based on courses, the majority (57%) of students come from outside the state of Haryana.

This is a worry as per our take because having a good balance of male and female students is important for a good education. When there are very few girls, it can make the learning environment uncomfortable for them and may reinforce gender stereotypes.

Central University of Haryana Location

The Central University of Haryana is located in Jant-Pali village, Mahendragarh district, Haryana, India. It is around 10 kilometres from Mahendragarh and approximately 10 kilometres from the state capital, Chandigarh. The institution sits in a rural setting, surrounded by farms.

The climate in this region is semi-arid, with hot summers and cold winters. The average summer temperature is around 35 degrees Celsius, while the average winter temperature is around 15 degrees Celsius. The monsoon season lasts from July through September, with an average rainfall of roughly 600 millimetres.

Our Take:

As per our research and studying students’ feedback, we believe that many students appreciate CUH's rural setting, finding it conducive to focused and peaceful studying. However, some students feel the location is isolated and inconvenient, particularly due to the absence of easily accessible public transportation. Here are the major pros and cons that we have draught down for better understanding for prospective students:

Pros:

  • The university’s rural setting offers students a tranquil and focused study atmosphere without many distractions.
  • Living costs in this area are quite reasonable, making it budget-friendly for students.
  • Additionally, the Central University of Haryana's proximity to Mahendragarh city ensures access to various amenities like shops, eateries, and healthcare facilities, enhancing convenience for students.

Cons:

  • The university is located in the countryside, around 10 km from Mahendragarh. This may be alienating for some students, and getting to and from campus without a car can be tough.
  • Public transit to and from the campus is scarce. This might be an issue for students who do not own a car or cannot afford private transport.
  • The Central University of Haryana's remote setting implies that there are few facilities nearby. Mahendragarh has a few stores and eateries, however, the range is limited.

Central University of Haryana: Expectation vs Reality Verdict!

The Central University of Haryana is a newer university, having been founded in 2009. It is a central university, which means it is funded and managed by the Indian government's central government. The institution promises to provide a high-quality education in a range of subjects, as well as a number of other perks such as a modern campus, significant research possibilities, and a track record of job placement.

However, there are areas where Central University of Haryana does not meet all these promises. The campus is in a faraway place, and it's hard to find public transportation to go there and come back. Also, the facilities like infrastructure and resources are not as good as some other government universities. And, in some subjects, students struggle to get good job placements after they finish their studies.

In our view, the Central University of Haryana is a decent pick for students seeking higher education in a rural setting. Nonetheless, it's essential to consider the possible downsides before deciding whether to enrol or not.
