Advantages

  • Personalized attention: A smaller student body allows professors to provide more individualized guidance, enhancing understanding and personalized learning experiences.
  • Close-knit community: A compact cohort encourages strong camaraderie and mutual support among students, fostering a collaborative learning atmosphere.
  • Faculty accessibility: The reduced number of students enables better access to esteemed professors, promoting mentorship and personalized feedback.

Disadvantages

  • Intense competition: Limited seats may intensify competition, leading to higher stress levels among students.
  • Limited peer interaction: A smaller student population may restrict exposure to diverse perspectives and collaborative learning opportunities.
  • Resource constraints: Some argue that a smaller batch size might strain resources like lab equipment or clinical exposure.

AIIMS New Delhi mainly provides merit-based scholarships for Indian students, distinguishing itself from other medical universities that may offer need-based or community-specific scholarships. Securing a scholarship at AIIMS New Delhi is highly competitive due to limited seats and a large number of applicants, necessitating outstanding academic achievements. The institution also offers robust research opportunities and fellowships for post-doctoral students, making it an attractive destination for talented researchers worldwide. Also, a monthly stipend of INR 500 is given to all students for the first three years As per the student review, a monthly stipend of INR 13000 was given during the period of internship in 2022.

Our Take:

Unfortunately, there is limited data available on scholarship statistics, making it difficult to assess accessibility and success rates. AIIMS New Delhi places a strong emphasis on academic merit for scholarships, creating a competitive atmosphere.
