Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, is known as one of the best business institutes in India located atop a picturesque hillside in the outer city of Indore. Alongside, it has been ranked 6th in Business Today's 2023 Rankings for business schools, executive MBA, and one-year MBA programmes. These high rankings in prestigious national and international platforms like NIRF and Business Today signify IIM Indore's unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a stimulating learning environment. IIM Indore has achieved these recognitions largely as a result of its flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management (PGPM) programme. Other than that, it offers 8 programmes at the post-graduate, executive, and Ph.D. levels. 

There are some major factors that must be considered while reviewing IIM Indore: admission, placements, fees, and overall college life. Admission to IIM Indore is not a cakewalk; students are required to crack entrance exams, like CAT, which are highly competitive. For admission to IPM courses, students are required to qualify for the IPMAT entrance exam which again, is one of the tough exams. If we talk about placements, IIM Indore placements records are excellent as per the report released officially. As per the IIM Indore final placement reports of 2022-23, the highest annual package worth INR 1.14 Cr was offered to 12 PGP and IPM students. In the same year, the average annual package offered for these courses stood at INR 30.21 LPA. Over 160 domestic and international companies participated in the recruitment drive. However, one thing that might be disappointing for students is the higher course fee at IIM Indore. The course fee for PGP/ IPM ranges up to INR 11 Lakhs for Indian students and INR 15 Lakhs for NRI/ foreign national students. Hence, while the college stands on a positive ground when it comes to placements, the tough selection criteria and higher fees might be daunting to some.

Although its rank has dropped a notch from the 7th position in the NIRF 2022 rankings, IIM Indore has managed to make it to the list of top 10 Business Schools in India, which bears testimony to its constant endeavor to offer its students a research-backed curriculum and cutting-edge teaching methods delivered by faculty who are leaders in their areas. Also, IIM Indore's inclusion in rankings like NIRF and Business Today demonstrates its standing among top business schools. This recognition enhances the institute's appeal to students seeking high-quality management education.

IIM Indore Academia & Batch Size

IIM Indore adopts a trimester system, with one exam every four months on average. The academic program at IIM Indore is relatively demanding, with more than 15 lectures conducted each week. Exams are conducted on a weekly basis. IIM Indore's teaching technique includes practical discussions centred on case studies, as well as industrial visits. As per our review, life at IIM Indore might be challenging and demanding, but it is also very rewarding. The programmes offered here are designed to push students to their limits, both academically and personally. Students are expected to work hard and put in long hours, but they are also provided with a wealth of resources and support to help them succeed. The curriculum at IIM Indore includes core courses and elective courses which shows that it focuses on providing students with a solid foundation in the core areas of business, such as finance, marketing, and operations while also allowing students to tailor their education to their specific interests and career goals. The fact that the university conducts exams following a trimester pattern is beneficial for students as they develop the habit of studying all around the year and not just a month before the exam. If one studies well throughout the year and follows the course curriculum diligently, they should be able to score good grades. The course curriculum at IIM Indore is industry-relevant and prepares students well for the real-world job.

IIM Indore Infrastructure 

IIM Indore is blessed with scenic beauty - a lush green campus spread across 200 acres with all facilities available from library, and hostels, to gynamisims, labs, canteen, etc. The campus has amazing architecture, structural designs, and amenities. 

• Classroom: IIM has proper air conditioners and modernly built classrooms with proper seating arrangements. The university lecture theatres/classrooms have a linear seating layout. The MDP classrooms are more adaptable, with round tables to promote greater participant interaction.

• Auditorium/ Seminar Halls/ Labs:The institute also features two auditoriums, one of which includes an amphitheatre. Auditorium-1 (the old auditorium) has 300 seats, whereas Auditorium-2 (the new auditorium) located in the Sports Complex has 800 seats.

• Library:The Learning Centre (LC) at IIM Indore is a hybrid library with cutting-edge technology applications that houses information resources mostly relevant to management and associated courses. The full LC collection, including CD-ROM databases and online databases, is accessible via the Institute's network.
  

  

• Internet:The university offers Wi-Fi services for students' convenience. Wireless network access is also available in the Faculty Block, Library, Classroom, MDC, Hostel Blocks, Auditoriums, and Sports Complex, among other places. The institute includes a 24-hour IT FMS facility. Every hostel room has a LAN connection to the institute's network, allowing 24/7 access to internet resources. 

• Hostel:The university offers proper hostel facilities for male and female students. There are separate hostels for males and females with single-seated and twin-sharing bed options. Individual Rooms have Teak Cots and Mattresses, a Computer Table, Chairs, Closets, and Shelves. According to the university's official website, there is one 1 FPM Participant’s Hostel, 18 Student Residences, 20 Student Common Rooms, 1 Married Student’s Hostel, 3 Student Mess Blocks, and 4 Executive Residences. 

• Activities:The gym, sports complex, and swimming pool are elite, and the medical facilities are excellent. Cricket, badminton court, football, and table tennis are all available at the university. There are dozens of student clubs, such as the management club. Fests are the heart and soul of the institution and are conducted frequently. 

• Cafe/ Hang-out Places:IIM Indore has 4 canteens where students can choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine. Aside from the normal mess, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., a night canteen is open for students to purchase everything from noodles to parathas. The students also run a self-managed goods store called PI Shop, which sells everything from stationery and snacks to self-care.
  

  

Our take 

The hostel rooms at IIM Indore are well-maintained, so students need not worry about cleanliness and hygiene. The centeens are open even in odd hours which signifies that even if students are up late working on projects or group assignments, they can enjoy healthy, home-cooked food or snacks. The IIM Indore cafeteria is also a great place to bond and interact with fellow students and seniors. The presence of a designated sports ground and various clubs implies that in addition to academic studies, students at IIM Indore are also encouraged to get involved in extracurricular activities and events.  According to the university's official website, the institute has a State Bank of India (SBI) E-Corner, two ATMs, and a medical center with an ambulance facility, which is very convenient for students living on the campus. They need not commute a great distance for medical emergencies or money withdrawals in times of need. In this regard, we would like to mention that IIM Indore's infrastructure and campus life are fabulous and will offer you the best days of your life.

Our Take

IIM Indore is one of the top business schools in India and is known for its large batch size. However, despite the large batch size, the institute has a good placement record. The average salary package offered to the students during the placement process is also quite high as per the reports. 

Comparing the IIM Indore placements 2023 with 2022, there has been improvement in terms of salary packages. The highest salary offered was in crore, which is a significant remarkable package. According to the previous year's placements report available on the college’s official website, the highest internship stipend at IIM Indore was INR 6 lakhs, and the average stipend was INR 2.74 lakhs. The IIM Indore basic internship stipend is the salary package for some of the colleges in India. The top compensation at IIM Indore increased by 50%, while the average stipend increased by 37%. After analyzing the data given on the university's official website and student reviews shared on Quora, the IIM placements and internships are 9.5 out of 10. These achievements can be attributed to the institute's consistent ranks and ever-expanding reputation in terms of academics, campus life, global exposure and publications, skills development programmes and training etc. 

The improvement in IIM Indore's placements 2023 compared to 2022, particularly the significant increase in the highest salary offered, indicates the institute's strong reputation and its ability to prepare students for successful careers in the business world. IIM Indore Diversity & Representation

The male-to-female ratio at IIM Indore is 62:38. The ratio highlights more male students compared to females which showcases little gender disparity. The IIM Indore campus life is diverse and there is proper freedom of speech as per students' review shares on Quora. You will not face any kind of ragging or harassment at IIM Indore as both seniors and teachers are welcoming towards freshers. 

Our Take

We believe the reason for the low male-to-female ratio despite the university's academic excellence could be that the majority of the males prefer core management programmes over other degrees. In some parts of India, there is still a social stigma attached to female students taking admission to PGM and MBA degree schools for higher education. However, the faculty includes many female teachers, which implies the college is keen towards hiring female professors and lecturers who are qualified for the role. According to the Times of India news published on July 5, 2023, IIM Indore signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MP Mahila Vitta Evam Vikas Nigam to promote entrepreneurs and self-help groups of the state. This showcases, the university is at the forefront of promoting women in the real world. 

IIM Indore Faculty/ College Administration & Management

There is no management hierarchy at IIM Indore and students take active participation in administration and handling events. The Student Activities Council (SAC) runs the majority of the features on the IIM Indore campus. IIM Indore is doing a remarkable job in hiring well-educated, trained faculty with degrees and training from major colleges both within and outside the country. they are the backbone of the institute. As per students, the professors are outstanding and are eager to assist students who seek guidance, which indicates that the faculty and the students share an intimate bond that goes beyond classroom lessons. The feedback method is beneficial as it helps incorporate any constructive criticism into the course design. IIM Indore offers students active participation in administrative events like handling fests and running a shop within the campus, which help them with overall personality development. 

IIM Indore Location

IIM Indore College's location is Prabandh Shikhar, Rau-Pithampur Road Indore –453556, Madhya Pradesh, India. IIM Indore has a campus in Prabandh Shikhar, a somewhat suburban or rural location around 25 kilometres from Indore's city centre. It is situated on a hill and has a wonderful ambience and a calm setting.  

Our Take

IIM Indore College location is beautiful and offers students good scenery and fresh air to breathe a little away from the city hustle and bustle. Though the college is located in the little outer part of Indore city, there are not many problems faced by students as within the campus only all facilities are available. The university offers proper commute facilities also for teachers and students which solves the transportation problem.

Without any doubt, IIM Indore is among India's best business schools, considering its remarkable placement rates, internship opportunities, stellar faculties, and 5-start campus life. If you are eager to learn you will find ample amount of learning opportunities through the colleges' classes, debates, workshops, seminars, and stages to represent your talents from academics to sports. Talking about some of the drawbacks, the academic life here is a bit hectic with relentless assignments, quizzes, midterms, and end-term exams.
