Campus at Glimpse
Presidency College Bangalore is situated on the outskirts of India's Silicon Valley, Bangalore. It is one of the prestigious private professional institutions in the state of Karnataka, India. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and re-accredited with an 'A' Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Presidency College offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Finance, Humanities, Computer Applications, Accounting, and Commerce streams. Its flagship courses are within the umbrella of the Management stream. The college was ranked as the 'Best B-School offering an MBA programme under the Bengaluru City University', and 4th for BBA courses among the Bangalore colleges as per NIRF rankings.
Describing some of the college's salient plus points, Presidency College Bangalore has an excellent faculty, the majority being Ph.D. holders. The teachers here are dedicated to assisting the students in every manner possible even if it is through taking extra classes on Sunday. The college spends a lot on its modern infrastructure and maintaining proper campus life to attract students from across the country. Several applications pour in from outside the state as well. A verdict without highlighting the drawbacks of college will not be unbiased. Therefore, coming to some of the college's drawbacks, it has many strict rules related to examination fees and other charges. As stated by students on Quora, the college security takes on the responsibility of ensuring that all the rules are followed at all times. Presidency College Bangalore placements have a good rate of 70-80% for Master’s degree courses but for undergraduate courses, it is below the belt as per the record given for NIRF ranking 2023. Internship opportunities are also offered to students.
Presidency College Bangalore NIRF Ranking

The institute has not received an NIRF ranking in 2023 though the college did submit the data for ranking and the same is also available on the college’s official website. However, the college has been acknowledged by several other publications and bodies that are listed below:
According to a survey conducted by GHRDC, Presidency College Bangalore was ranked 3rd among the Top BBA Colleges of Super Excellence in 2023.
According to the WURI 2023 Rankings, Presidency College in Bengaluru is rated 51–100 among the world's universities for innovation in the fourth industrial revolution.

Our Take
Presidency College Bangalore has been fairly ranked by various organisations in terms of its management courses, like BBA and MBA. It has also been regarded as one of the emerging colleges so if the management thrives to work better in academics, placement, infrastructure, etc, it can become one of the leading colleges. If we search on Google for top BCA colleges in Bangalore, its name does appear which indicates its BCA programme is well regarded. The college received the 7th position under the NIRF ranking in 2021 but in 2022 and 2023 its name was not on the NIRF rankings. If the college can find an answer to why this happened, it can get a position back in the NIRF ranking next year which will add to its reputation.
Presidency College Bangalore Academia & Batch Size
Presidency College Bangalore has implemented a credit-based grading system (CBCS) for student evaluation that is also accepted by global universities. CBCS system has been emphasized by NAAC and UGC and it allows students additional freedom by allowing them to pick inter-disciplinary (known as Extra-Departmental papers) courses in addition to main courses, making education more broad-based.
According to the course structure mentioned on the college's official website, it adopts a semester system that includes core modules and elective modules. The elective module allows students to choose subjects of their choice which is good as it allows students to have the freedom to pursue subjects that interest them.
For better or for worse, the Presidency College Bangalore has a strict 75% attendance rule which is important to follow otherwise you will get back a year as stated by students on Quora.
Our Take
Overall, Presidency College Bangalore offers students a diverse course curriculum with CBCS and a semester system allowing them to study subjects of their choice. However, although there are seminars, competitions, and other well-grooming activities conducted at the campus from time to time, students on Quora have mentioned that there are rules stating students cannot actively participate in activities outside of their area of interest during college time, and if they do, they will lose attendance. So fests/seminars/paper presentations can only be done with 25% attendance because students must maintain 75% attendance at all costs, or they will lose a year and shall have to repeat the semester.
Presidency College Bangalore Infrastructure
The Presidency College Bangalore spreads across a 60-acre campus. According to the student's review on Quora, there's plenty of room to breathe and enjoy life at campus, and the amenities are far superior to those found at other Bangalore colleges.
- Classroom: The Presidency College classrooms are neat and clean and have air conditioning and seating for 75 students. As per the college's official website, the college’s classrooms also have a whiteboard, a high-resolution overhead projector, and a display screen to aid in student learning and teaching methods.
- Auditorium/ Seminar Halls/ Labs: The college offers a conference hall, and three air-conditioned computer labs, each with about forty desktop computer systems (TFT monitors). Each laboratory has three 3Gigabyte switches installed to provide a continuous Internet connection. There are language labs, psychology labs, and media labs within the college.
Library: The Presidency college, Bangalore library is located on the second and third floors and houses about 32,000 volumes, periodicals, national and international journals, audio-video recordings, and other items.
Hostel: There are three different hostel facilities for boys and girls, each with 24-hour security. The hostel rooms are offered in double occupancy. There is a personal mess in each hostel where both veg and non-veg food is served.
Internet: There is no Wi-Fi on the entire campus considering students' reviews shared on Quora. Students are required to use the lab computers if they need to access the internet for their research.
Activities: The college offers a table tennis and carom area, as well as a large playing field.
Cafe/ Hang-out Places:There is a canteen and a cafeteria within the college campus which can accommodate 60 students.
Our take
The overall Presidency College Bangalore infrastructure is excellent and offers all facilities like hostel accommodation, a library, a canteen, labs, etc. The college hostels are good and spacious with proper interiors and amenities, including a bed, a cupboard, proper lighting, tables, and chairs. The college claims to offer Wi-Fi services, however, as per students' claims on Quora, there is no Wi-Fi. This is a major concern as without proper and prompt internet connectivity students may not be able to access online news, books and study materials, which in turn, will affect their education. The canteen offers both North and South Indian cuisine but the charges for a meal are a little high. This may turn out a bit expensive if you choose to have food regularly from the canteen, but on the brighter side, students will not miss homecooked food much!
We did thorough research and one of the points that has been highlighted by many students on Quora is that the college adopts strict rules which bothers students a lot. There are rules such as no loitering, no sitting in the canteen or participation in sports during class hours. Students are not permitted to leave the campus before 4 PM and must always carry their ID cards, and dress formally throughout the week (jeans are not permitted); if students are found/caught using the phone in class, students will be fined Rs.1000. The campus site is fully protected, with security guards stationed at the entrances. While some of the rules are appreciated to ensure that students follow discipline within the premises, the imposition of a strict dress code, no use of mobile phones etc. are a bit irrational and may even affect the academic performance of students. Some students may thrive in a more relaxed environment and feel motivated to learn when given freedom and flexibility. They may be more creative and take initiative in their learning when they feel they have control over their educational journey. The administration should ease some of the guidelines to maintain a balance between enforcing rules and allowing flexibility and creativity.
In case of an emergency, female students can rest in the Girls' Common Room situated on the second floor of the college building. The room features a cot and a bed for students to comfortably rest in, which is a much-appreciated move by the authorities. This implies the college's willingness to provide the utmost comfort to its students in times of need.

Our Take
Talking about Presidency College placements, there has been a noticeable fluctuation over the last three years. For 4-year Bachelor’s courses, the percentage of students getting placed has decreased drastically. On the contrary, the Presidency College Bangalore placements of postgraduate students noticed a lot of improvement which is commendable.
Presidency College Bangalore’s placement department stated that they would give training for the assignments, however, the institution provided no training or direction claim by students on Quora. We can say that the college placements cell has a lot of work to do in terms of providing training, inviting top recruiters, conducting mock interviews, etc.

---|---|
Within State (Including male & female) | 7875 |
Outside State (Including male & female) | 6214 |
Outside Country (Including male & female) | 20 |
Our Take
The male-to-female ratio at the college is extremely biased toward men, which might be impacted by variables such as the college's location being in a rural area or the necessity for special efforts to attract female students. Presidency College Bangalore does have a name outside Bangalore. Therefore, there are a significant number of students outside the state which contributes to the college's popularity.
Presidency College Bangalore Faculty/ College Administration & Management
The College has over 1,200 well-educated staff members and approximately 14,000 students. Teachers at this college are experienced and well-qualified, holding master's and doctoral degrees from international colleges. Faculty members are quite helpful, skilled, and informed claimed by alumni on Quora. The teachers prefer PPTs, case studies, movies, and so forth. If a student does not understand a subject, they provide extra courses even on Sunday.
Moreover, the Presidency College Bangalore management is not very pleasant and helpful as reported by students on Quora. They claim that management doesn't operate well and does not focus on students’ complaints.
Our Take
The college has an admirable faculty who are Ph.D. holders and are at the front line to help the students. But, the college management must focus on student’s problems and should strive to solve them.
Presidency College Bangalore Location
The Presidency College is situated in 2D, Kempapura Main Rd, Hebbal Kempapura, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560024. The college is located on the outskirts of Bangalore in the serene environment of Kempapura. While this rural location is peaceful, it does provide some transportation issues for students travelling from cities. However, the college offers proper transportation services for both students and faculty. The institution operates specialized buses that transport students and faculty from the campus to other sections of the city along designated routes that cover a large portion of the city. Presidency College is about 15 kilometres from Kempegowda International Airport and is accessible through BMTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus service. Due to the college being in a rural area, finding departmental and grocery stores can be challenging for students.
Our Take
Without any doubt, the college location is in the outskirts of Bangalore thus causing difficulty in finding nearby departmental stores. Therefore, students must keep all the required amenities with them before visiting the Presidency college, Bangalore.
Expectation vs Reality CollegeDekho Verdict
Overall, Presidency College Bangalore is a reputed college in Bangalore and across the whole of India. Upon entering the campus, students will be mesmerized by its fabulous infrastructure. Talking about faculty they are fabulous. Its course structure is modern and follows the CBCS system. As every coin has two sides, the other aspect of the college is its average placements which is a crucial drawback. However, its postgraduate placements are doing exceptionally well. The other dark aspects of the college stated by a number of students are its strict rules and dictatorial culture within the campus, not functioning management, and non-prime college location. Although the Presidency College Bangalore degree holds a reputation, some of its courses like BCA, BBA, and MBA are A1.
