NEET 2022 Physics Study Plan: Preparation Strategy, Timetable, Chapter-Wise Weightage

When preparing for NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), one cannot afford to ignore the Physics section. It is one of the most important parts of your NEET Syllabus and carries great weightage. The Physics section comprises chapters from Classes 11 & 12, which can be a nightmare for many students. However, if you want to crack NEET 2022, you have to score well in this section. So, gear up, all aspirants! In this article, we will share a comprehensive NEET 2022 Physics Study Plan – some important tips and strategies that will help you nail the entrance exam.

NEET 2022 Physics: Know How to Approach the Subject

Physics may seem difficult for students who do not have clarity of the concepts behind it. Once the concept is clear, Physics can be fun to learn. What makes the subject difficult for the students is their approach. The majority of students try to get a grip of the concepts by solving questions whereas it should actually be the other way around. The focus should be on clearing the basic concepts, understanding the process of derivation, and then solving questions to assess how far you have come.

NEET 2022 Physics Exam Pattern

As per the NEET 2022 Exam Pattern, the Physics section is divided into two parts – Section A comprising 35 questions of 4 marks each, and Section B with 15 questions (of which 10 are to be attempted) carrying 4 marks each. That means the total marks allotted to Section A and Section B are 140 and 40, respectively.

The division and marking scheme of NEET Physics are tabulated below:

Section

Total Number of Questions

Total Marks

Section A

35

140

Section B

15 (10 to be attempted)

40

Total

50 (45 to be answered)

180

Any score above 140 is considered a good score in NEET Physics. In order to fetch good marks in this section, one must answer at least 35-40 questions correctly. The key is to get as many right answers as possible from the chapters and topics that one is familiar with.

NEET 2022 Physics Study Plan: How to Prepare

The competition for NEET is rising every year. To crack the entrance and grab a seat in the Top MBBS Colleges in India, one must have the best strategy. This includes mastering the NEET Syllabus, formulating a smart study plan, revising thoroughly, getting acquainted with the exam pattern, solving papers and so on. Here, we have collated and brought you some useful NEET Preparation Tips by experts and toppers to get you the perfect score!

Follow the NEET Syllabus

First things first – know the NEET syllabus to have complete knowledge of all chapters. Typically, you will have most chapters from your 11th & 12th Grades in the syllabus, so students need not prepare for them separately. That leaves you with time to cover the additional chapters and topics for NEET 2022.

Go Through Good Study Materials

NEET 2022 Study Materials are one of the most crucial aspects of the exam. Apart from your textbooks, you should refer to other books and online materials to get your concepts cleared and get additional information on the topics. Go through the suggestions given by NEET toppers and teachers. By following their interviews and tips, you may get an idea about the NEET study plan and strategy.

Formulate a Timetable

Having a timetable can be of great help when preparing for NEET. Your timetable should be inclusive of your complete routine activities – right from the time you wake up till the time you go to sleep at night. Divide your day into hours and plan accordingly. For instance – you can allot 2-3 hours for revising a chapter that you feel needs more attention, and then allot the next 2 hours to solve practice papers based on questions from that particular chapter. Thus, you can work on your weaknesses. It is also essential that you include your break or playtime in the timetable, so you know just how many hours you can afford to spare on recreational activities.

Prepare Short Notes

The best way to memorize important topics, formulas and laws of Physics is by keeping notes of the same. While reading paragraphs from the NCERT books, jot down the important points separately in a notepad and highlight them. This will help you recollect the answers better during revision and also save time.

Practice Question Papers

One major concern for students appearing for NEET 2022 is the limitation of time. Candidates are to answer 180 questions in 3 hours, which is challenging. In such cases, time management is essential. Solving NEET sample papers and previous years’ question papers is a great way to improve our speed and accuracy. Not only does solving papers give you an idea of the difficulty level and probable questions in the NEET Exam, but also helps to speed up.

Focus on Your Weaknesses

It is not possible for all students to hold a strong grip on every subject or topic. Some may have a stronger base in one chapter and be weak in another. But that should not demotivate you or stray you from the path. Once you have analyzed your weak points, seek guidance from the experts, and work on improving the weaker sections. Instead of fearing the difficult chapters, allot more time to study them and keep practising dedicatedly.

Take Mock Tests Daily

Mock tests for NEET Physics 2022 are a great way to assess how well prepared you are for the exam. The tests are designed in the same pattern as the actual NEET Exam, so you also get an idea about how to approach and navigate through the question paper. Besides, the questions have a time limit, so candidates need to be prompt when answering them. This improves speed. Lastly, one can get an idea of his/her preparation so far by evaluating the scores based on the online mock tests.

Take Scheduled Breaks

Preparing for NEET 2022 does not necessarily mean that candidates should go for marathon study sessions. Taking short breaks in between is also equally important to reset your mind and improve concentration. Go for a short walk, play a game, watch your favourite shows, or do whatever makes you content.

Prioritize Your Health

Students must not ignore their health amid NEET 2022 Preparation. Sufficient sleep, healthy eating habits, and a positive mindset – all these are essential for the candidate to ensure a healthy body and mind before the NEET 2022.

With these preparation tips and NEET 2022 Physics Study Plan, candidates stand a very good chance of scoring well above the cut-off marks and securing a good rank that will get them through the top medical institutes across the country.
