  • Some colleges may also add an additional requirement of age. In most cases, colleges have outlined that the applicants should be at least 17 years of age by 31st December 2021, or the year of admission.

  • In India, admissions to paramedical courses, including B.Optometry, can be done either by merit or through entrance exam. Therefore, an applicable entrance test score is also a must.

B.Optom Admission and Selection Processes 2021

In India, the admissions to any professional and technical courses are based on either the merit of the applicants or the entrance test scores secured by the applicants. In the case of B.Optom admissions and selection processes 2021, the students are required to either secure a good qualifying score or sit for an entrance test, as prescribed by the paramedical college.

Admissions to the paramedical courses can be done on the basis of the merit of the students as well as the scores obtained by them in an apt entrance exam.   • Once you have applied for admission to the B.Optom course and college of your choice. Then depending on the admission policies of the respective college, you will be called for further selection processes.

  • The selection processes usually followed by the colleges include participating in a Personal Interview and a Document Verification Processes.

  • Those who qualify these steps, as applicable for the different colleges, will be further shortlisted by the college in question and an Admission Offer Letter will be intimated to you, subsequently.

Entrance-Based B.Optom Admissions in India

Another option opted by colleges in India include offering admissions to candidates on the basis of their scores in an entrance test. Those interested in taking admissions to the Bachelor of Optometry course in India through an entrance test will be required to following the subsequent processes:

  • All candidates will have to go through the eligibility criteria and appear for the respective entrance exam. As there are certain states where entrance tests are conducted for the admissions to the B.Optom course, you may be required to sit for the respective State-level entrance tests.

    • Some Colleges and Universities conduct their own entrance tests to offer admissions to the B.Optom course.

  • If the college accepts the scores obtained in the State-Level entrance test, then you will be required to apply and appear for the state-level entrance test. After clearing the examination, a state-level counselling process will be conducted by the competent authority, subsequently offering you the college and course based on the scores obtained in the entrance test.

  • If the college offers admissions based on the scores obtained in their own entrance test, then you will be required to apply to the college.

    • Once you have entered the correct and complete details, a Unique Registration/Application Number will be generated for you. Subsequently, an Admit Card with your details will also be generated.

    • You will be required to present the Admit Card on the day of the entrance test.

  • Once you have attempted the entrance test, the college will release the results of the tests, consecutively releasing the merit lists for the admission processes. Candidates will be offered admissions to the B.Optom course based on the ranks secured in the merit list.

After completing all the processes intimated by the college regarding the selection to the courses, you will receive communication from the college regarding your admission status to the course.

After being shortlisted to the course, the students will receive an Admission Offer letter, which will direct them on the processes of accepting the admission offer. The processes usually require the students to pay the course fee as prescribed by the college. Until and unless the payment of the fee has not been completed, the candidate will remain as a provisionally admitted student.
