NIIFT Admission 2024: Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology conducts the NIIFT entrance exam for selecting students across undergraduate and postgraduate design courses. The application process began on January 15, 2024, and is ongoing so the eligible candidates can fill out the NIIFT application form until the deadline of May 27, 2024. 

The institute has three campuses - Mohali, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. The courses offered at these campuses include - a BSc in Fashion Design, a BSc in Fashion Design (KNITS), a BSc in Textile Design, an MSc in Garment Manufacturing Technology, an MSc in Fashion Marketing and Management, and an MDes in Fashion and Textile. It must be noted that only students who have successfully submitted the application form will be issued the admit card. The NIIFT written entrance exam is scheduled for June 2, 2024. The final selection of NIIFT admission 2024 will be based on the situation test and interview rounds. What is NIIFT Entrance Exam 2024?

The Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology administers the NIIFT entrance exam 2024 for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate design programmes. It has campuses in three cities in India: Mohali, Ludhiana, and Jalandhar. 

NIIFT has different courses such as BSc Fashion Design, BSc Textile Design, MSc Fashion Marketing and Management and others. Candidates who want to secure their spots in this institute must appear for the entrance exam, and based on the marks obtained in the written test, performance in the interview round and situation test. Also, it must be noted that students applying for the postgraduate programmes are not required to appear for the situation test.

NIIFT 2024 Admission Courses Offered

The NIIFT has campuses in three cities in India: Mohali, Ludhiana, and Jalandhar. Based on the candidate's performance in the situation test, interview, and performance in the NIIFT entrance exam, they can get a seat at any of the NIIFT campuses. It should be noted that applicants for the PG design programmes offered at NIIFT are not required to take the situational judgment test.

NIIFT Entrance Exam Application Process

Candidates had to adhere to the application process listed below in order to sit for the NIIFT 2024 entrance exams:

  • Step 1: Registration Process

Candidates had to submit their applications online using the application link on the official website. Enter the necessary information, then submit.

Note: Only English must be used to complete the application form's entries. 

  • Step 2: Filling out the Application Form

Keep the following details/documents/information on hand before beginning to fill out the online application; a valid email address (the email address must be valid for at least one year), personal information, educational background information, scanned photograph image in jpg/jpeg format with a size of no more than 50 KB and no less than 5KB and a scanned signature image in jpg/jpeg format, with a file size of no more than 50 KB and no less than 5KB.

Further, candidates are required to fill out the online application form with their information and click Save. Because candidates' eligibility will be screened based on the information they provide, they must take reasonable care to provide accurate information about their qualifications, etc. After that, upload their photos and signatures.

Note: If the candidate does not wish to upload a photograph and signature (Option: Do you wish to upload a photograph and signature (Y/N)? is accessible. Candidates who select NO will be required to affix their photograph and signature to the Printout of Application Form and send it to AIMA, New Delhi.

  • Step 3: Make the Application Fee Payment

There are two ways to pay the application fee, which are listed below: 

  1. Demand Draft
  2. Credit/Debit Card

Note: Demand draft payments should be made to the following address by candidates: Manager (CMS), All India Management Association, Link Road, Lajpat Nagar, Part III, New Delhi, 110024

  • For all of the available courses, send a demand draft for INR 1,750 (for general candidates) and INR 440 (for SC/ST/PH candidates) made out to "NIIFT Mohali" and payable in Mohali. The online application form must include the Demand Draft's details. Candidates submitting their applications via demand draught must send a printout of the application form that has been properly filled out in every way, as well as supporting documents (a copy of their grade-level transcript from grade 10 and their grade-level transcript from grade 12), their date-of-birth certificate, their certificate of reserved category or subcategory (in the prescribed format, duly signed by the prescribed authorities), and their certificate of Punjab domicile or residence, if applicable)
  • Candidates are required to send the printout of the application form, duly completed in all respects, along with testimonials (copy of 10th marksheet, 12th result/result of qualifying examination), DOB birth certificate, certificate of reserved category or sub category (in the prescribed format duly signed by prescribed authorities), Certificate of Punjab Domicile/Residence certificate, if payment option selected is Debit/Credit Card, and photographs and signatures uploaded
  • Step 4: Download the NIIFT 2024 Admit Card

Once the admit card is available, candidates are advised to download it after submitting their applications. The NIIFT 2024 Admit Card contains information about the examination centre/venue, etc. The admit card for the written examination will NOT be mailed or emailed. Candidates are encouraged to check the AIMA website for updates on a regular basis. 

  • Step 5: Sit for NIIFT 2024 Entrance Examination

Candidates must show up for the NIIFT exam. Candidates must arrive at the designated NIIFT testing location 45 minutes prior to the start of the design entrance exam. The three-hour entrance exam for design will have 100 possible points. Shortlisted applicants must then show up for the situation test after taking the written entrance exam. According to the official website, "a situation test is a hands-on test to evaluate candidates' creative ability and material handling skills on a given situation with given set of material."

Note: Only applicants for the NIIFT's UG design programmes are eligible to take the situation test.

  • Examinations at the +2 level in the 10+2 pattern of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Education, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi or
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination at the Advanced (A) level (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) or Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign Countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system or
  • A pass grade in the National Open School's Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of five subjects or
  • AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education-recognized 3- or 4-year diploma

MSc Fashion Marketing and Management

  • BSc/ BTech/ BE or
  • BCom/ BBA/ BCA/BA/ BDes with any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Textiles, Fashion, Accounts, Computers, Home Science, or any other related diploma in Economics, Statistics, Management, Marketing, or any other related field

MDes Fashion and Textiles

  • A UG degree in Fashion Design/Textile Design/ Knitwear Design/ Clothing & Textiles/ Apparel and Furnishing/ Home Science or any other allied field's course is required.

NIIFT 2024 Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT) must follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: After passing the written exam, appear for the interview

Candidates who pass the written exam will be invited to the interview. The interview will be held either online or offline. Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria during the interview round:

  • General knowledge
  • Design abilities
  • The pursuit of a career
  • Communication capabilities
  • Personality characteristics in general
  • Academic success
  • Co-curricular pursuits

Step 2: Check out the result

Candidates can access their NIIFT 2024 results on the design institute's official website. Candidates for NIIFT admissions must enter their registration number on the official website in order to view their results.

Step 3: Participate in counselling procedure

Candidates who have names on the college's final merit list must then attend the NIIFT counselling session held at NIIFT Mohali. On the college website, you can find the counselling schedule for the final seat allocation at NIIFT campuses. The candidates will go through three rounds of counselling and be given a specific amount of time to pay the admissions fee. On a first-come, first-served basis, Open Admission will then be offered for any unclaimed seats (if any).

NIIFT 2024 UG Admission Process

Students who are planning to apply for the undergraduate course in NIIFT must check the eligibility criteria beforehand. Check out the complete admission process given below:
  • The 'Creative Aptitude in Fashion Test' (CAFT) will be administered at all NIIFT campuses for admission to all Undergraduate Programmes
  • The "Creative Aptitude in Fashion Test" (CAFT) will be used as the basis for determining final merit
  • Candidates in the General and Reserved categories and subcategories (if applicable) will be placed on a common merit list
  • The following criteria will be used to determine the candidate's position in the merit list if they received equal marks
  • The candidate who received a higher overall percentage of points during the qualifying examination will be given a higher ranking according to merit. If there is a tie in the situation described in (a) above, the candidate who is older will rank in order of merit
  • Counselling will be conducted at the same time for 85% of seats for residents of the Punjab and 15% of seats for residents outside the Punjab; however, candidates from the reserved categories will first be considered in the General Category before being considered in the relevant category
  • If seats in the reserved category are still open after the second counselling, they will be converted to the general category
  • After the third round of counselling, any open seats will be filled by eligible candidates in a first-come, first-served manner upon payment of the required fee by the PTU deadline for admission 

NIIFT 2024 PG Admission Process

Eligible applicants may apply for admission to post-graduate programmes at NIIFT Mohali based on their merits in an interview and qualifying examination. For more information on the qualifying exam, please refer to the eligibility requirements. Provisional admission to postgraduate programmes will be permitted pending submission of qualifying exam pass results by July 31, 2024, or any later deadline set by the university for eligibility verification of applicants.

NIIFT Syllabus 2024 

Although NIIFT has not established a written test syllabus, candidates can review a few chosen topics to get ready for the test. The NIIFT exam typically includes questions on quantitative ability, English, analytical ability, creative ability, and communication ability. Candidates are advised to start their preparation early because the exam will include both MCQs and subjective questions based on the aforementioned topics. NIIFT Exam Pattern 2024

A candidate's performance in the situation test and personal interview round, in addition to their performance on the NIIFT entrance exam, determines their admission to UG programmes. The exam consists of 101 questions in total, 100 of which are objective and one of which is subjective (Creative Ability). Candidates have three hours to finish the exam. NIIFT Admit Card 2024

On the official website, candidates can download their NIIFT 2024 admit card. It is still unreleased when the admit card will be released officially. A registered student must present the hall ticket as a required document at the time of the exam. Only those applicants who have properly completed and submitted their application forms will receive an admit card.

How to Download NIIFT Admit Card 2024?

Students who have filled out the application form before the last date will receive their admit cards online. Check out the steps to download the admit card in online mode:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of the exam and log in with your registered email ID and date of birth.
  • Step 2: Once you submit these details, you will be redirected to the admit card page. Students can then view and download their admit cards. 

Students must print out the admit card and paste two attested passport-size photographs on it.

NIIFT Result 2024

NIIFT 2024 results will be released within a few days of the NIIFT 2024 entrance exam. Those who will appear for the NIIFT entrance exam can view their results online by entering their roll number/name and date of birth in the appropriate fields. Based on the results of an examination, applicants will be shortlisted in the merit list for the counselling session.

How to Check NIIFT Result 2024?

The result of this entrance exam is announced after some days of the entrance. To check the status of two rounds and results, students must follow the below-mentioned steps:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of the college.
  • Step 2: On the home page of the website click on the admission link.
  • Step 3: Then, click on the result and Download the Call Letter link.
  • Step 4: Students have to enter their nine-digit roll number or name along with their date of birth. After tapping on the submit button, you will be able to view your result.

NIIFT Counselling 2024

NIIFT 2024 Counselling will begin following the announcement of the results. Those applicants who make the merit list will be contacted for the counselling process. All selected candidates must appear at the counselling centre with the necessary documents for verification. Candidates' seats will be confirmed by the authority during counselling.
