Do’s and Don’ts for AFCAT Exam: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the conducting body of the AFCAT or Air Force Common Admission Test which is held twice a year. The AFCAT 2024 exam dates are February 16, 17 & 18, 2024. As the exam is almost near are you ready with your best preparation?

• Be aware of current events: The AFCAT exam includes a general knowledge section for which students must be up to date with current events and happenings. It is advised that students read newspapers daily and check out relevant news channels.

Don’ts for AFCAT 2024 Exam

Don’ts for AFCAT 2024 exam are a big no for the preparation phase, so refer to them and closely follow them to do your best: 

• Don’t Take Shortcuts: Students are suggested to say no to shortcuts. As studying a topic is not enough, they must go deep and understand the basics of topics and concepts. They must dive deep into the principles so that they can be utilised practically. Take notes on important topics, formulae, theories, and others and practice numerals regularly. Be consistent with the revision. 
• Don’t refer to any study material or new concept: Referring to too many study materials will not help students understand the core concepts and they will get unnecessary confusion. It will also lead to a waste of time which could be used for something more useful. 
• Don't Skip Important Topics: All of the AFCAT syllabus topics are important. So, they are advised to not skip any topics or sections. 
• Don't Fall Sick: Don’t do anything which might make you sick, such as poor sleeping habits, poor eating habits, and a lack of exercise. Prioritise your health while studying. Students should focus on their health to increase their productivity and make better use of their time and energy.
• Don't be Too Concerned About Your Preparation: Aspirants must not completely be focused on the end goal instead they should concentrate on preparing well. Exam tension is common during exams but students must try to keep calm and be focussed. 
• Don't Be Afraid to Ask for Help: Students must ask for help if they are facing trouble in any specific subject or part. Seek assistance from a friend, family member, or instructor but understand the concepts for preparing well. They can also refer to multiple sources which assist with exams. 
• Don’t stick to time-consuming questions: Candidates must not stick to or keep solving the time-consuming questions. Instead, they should move to other questions. However, in the end, if there is time left, they can again come back to the left question. 
• Don’t try to answer questions that are outside your expertise: Trying to solve questions that you have no idea about will only lead to a waste of time. Instead, manage time efficiently to solve the ones which you are sure about.

Important Guidelines for AFCAT Aspirants

• Take small and frequent breaks while studying for the AFCAT exam. This will assist you in remaining focused and avoiding burnout.
• Give yourself a treat. When you complete a study goal, reward yourself for something you appreciate. This will assist you in remaining motivated.
• Don't try to answer any questions that aren't within your field of knowledge.
• Don’t limit yourself to the questions that are taking too long. If you have time after completing the paper, proceed to the next section and go through the remaining ones.
