AFCAT is a national level entrance exam conducted for selecting officers in Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-Technical). The exam is conducted twice a year. AFCAT 1 2023 is going to be conducted in February 2023. Since the exam is just around the corner, candidates should focus on solving a maximum number of AFCAT previous years papers and AFCAT sample papers. AFCAT Exam Pattern 2023

The question paper of AFCAT is divided into four sections namely Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability, General Awareness and Reasoning, and Military Aptitude. The exam contains 100 questions and the maximum time allotted to complete the exam is 2 hours. Candidates who have applied for the Ground Duty Technical Branch have to appear for an additional examination i.e  Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). The duration of the EKT exam is 45 minutes and it covers questions from Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical and Electronics. The detailed exam pattern of AFACT is provided below.

AFCAT Last Minute Preparation Tips

The last-minute preparation tips for AFCAT 2023 have been specified below.

Revise Your Notes/ Shortcuts: Candidates should revise the notes prepared by them during the AFCAT revision. They should also revise important questions from Geography, static GK, Physical Geography, Indian Geography, and other GK topics.

Revisit the Syllabus: Candidates should go through the syllabus of AFCAT to ensure all the topics are covered. 

Analyse the Mock Tests: Candidates should analyse the scores of AFCAT to check their preparation level. The mock test papers of AFCAT are available on the official website of the Air Force Common Admission Test. The direct link for the AFCAT mock test papers is provided below.

Time-Management: Candidates should note that the total duration of the AFCAT examination is 2 hours and they will not be provided with any extra time to finish the exam. They should not spend more than 1 minute on any question. If they are stuck to any question, they should skip to the next question.

Prepare Your Documents: Candidates need to carry their AFCAT admit card along with one ID proof. They should keep all the required documents ready in advance to avoid any last-minute hassle. 

Don’t Take Stress: Candidates are advised not to take any stress for the exam. They should take proper rest before going for the exam. Candidates are also advised not to learn any new topic or concept on the exam day.

Maintain Speed & Accuracy: Candidates are advised to solve a maximum number of questions within the allotted time. However, they are advised to answer the questions provided in the AFCAT question paper carefully since there is a negative marking in the AFCAT exam.

Take a Nutritious Diet: Candidates are advised to take a light meal before going for the exam. They should avoid taking overly oily food as it can make them feel heavy and lethargic.

Concentrate more on Practise: During the last phase of preparation, candidates should focus on solving a maximum number of model test papers or previous years' papers of AFCAT. Besides this, they are advised to solve at least 3-4 sample papers in a week.
