How is SAR (State Architecture Rank) Calculated?
In the SAR Merit List, the candidates are provided with the SAR score which determines their merit number in the list. The SAR score of the candidate is calculated by giving 50% weightage to the NATA/ JEE Main Paper 2 score and 50% weightage to the qualifying exam score. For example, if a candidate has scored 93% in class 12 and 177 out of 200 in NATA, then his/ her SAR score will be 90. If a candidate has appeared for both NATA and JEE Main exams, then the SAR score will be calculated on the basis of the higher percentage obtained in one of the exams.

The top colleges that accept the NATA/JEE Paper 2 are Sir JJ College of Architecture that has an equivalent of 120 to 140 NATA score. The Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute has a score range of 90 to 110. Apart from this, the Rizvi College of Architecture has a score range of 100 to 120. Since the admissions occur through CAP, it is necessary to ensure that you get 50% score through the NATA/ JEE score and the remaining 50% from Class 12 PCM/PCB.
The JEE Main Paper 2 cutoffs have category-based differences, like the UR category has a range between 85 and 90, while the EWS/OBC-NCL category has a range of 70 to 75. The SC category has a range between 50 and 55, while the ST category has a range between 35 and 40.
