Factors Determining NEET PG 2024 Branch

In addition to candidate’s NEET PG Rank, several other significant factors contribute significantly to determining whether the applicants will secure their preferred branch following successful qualification in the NEET PG exam. These factors include:

  • NEET PG Reservation Policies: There will be reservation quotas or special seat reservations for candidates who fall under particular categories, such as SC/AT/OBC/EWS/PwBD. This affects their prospects of getting the branch they want.
  • Seat Matrix: Candidates should take seat availability into account when pursuing their desired specialization because a limited number of seats in a given field may increase competitiveness.
  • Increase Number of Counselling Rounds: In 2023, the NEET PG minimum qualifying marks were reduced to 0 in the final round of counselling. The frequency and length of counselling sessions, including mop-up rounds, have an impact on the options candidates have for choosing the branches they want. Availability and the nature of the competition may change depending on how these rounds are handled.
  • Overall Performance of the NEET PG Test-Takers: If all students have performed well in the entrance exam, there are chances that NEET PG 2024 Branch-wise Cutoff will be very high.
  • Difficulty Level: To create balance and fairness in the allotment process, the difficulty level of NEET PG is considered as an influencing factor. If the paper is difficulty, the NEET PG cutoff score/rank is lower.

NEET PG Cutoff 2024 Tie-Breaking Criteria

The examination authority has devised a set of criteria to resolve instances of tied scores among candidates in NEET PG 2024. Eight specific tie-breaking criteria have been established, each following a predetermined sequence. If the initial criterion fails to break the tie, subsequent criteria (2 through 8) will be sequentially applied. The factors used to determine higher rankings for such candidates are as follows, presented in a preferred order:

  • 1st Criterion: The candidate with the fewest incorrect responses across all three sections (Sections A + B + C) will be assigned a higher rank.
  • 2nd Criterion: Higher ranking is given to the candidate with a superior score in Section C.
  • 3rd Criterion: Priority is given to the candidate with the least number of incorrect answers in Section C.
  • 4th Criterion: A higher rank is granted to the candidate obtaining more marks in Section B.
  • 5th Criterion: Preference is given to the applicant with the fewest wrong answers in Section B.
  • 6th Criterion: The candidate securing more marks in Section A will be positioned higher in the ranking.
  • 7th Criterion: Priority is given to the candidate with the lesser number of incorrect answers in Section A.
  • 8th Criterion: In the case of a tie, an older applicant will receive a higher rank.

NEET PG 2024 Merit List

The NBE publishes the NEET PG 2024 merit list for 50% All India Quota seats on its official website (nbe.edu.in) in the PDF format. Those who secure a place in the NEET PG Merit List 2024 will be deemed eligible to register online for NEET PG 2024 seat allocation. The NEET PG 2024 Merit List will be released soon after the result is declared.

NEET PG Counselling 2024

As of now, the exam conducting body has not released any notification regarding the counselling dates. However, NEET PG exam date has been released. The NEET PG exam for the session 2024-25 will be conducted on June 23, 2024. NEET PG 2024 counselling is expected to be held in September 2024. The following is conducted online for admission to 50% AIQ seats, 50% State Quota seats, and 100% seats in AFMS/ESIC and central/deemed universities. To appear for NEET PG 2024 counselling rounds, candidates need to register on the official website, log in with the credentials provided and enter personal details. Once registered, they need to fill in the name of the colleges and courses they wish to apply to and pay a counselling fee to lock in their choices.

The authority allots seats to candidates based on these preferences. However, the final admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses is done based on reservation criteria, availability of seats, and the candidate’s NEET AIR. Based on these preferences, All India Rank, seats available, reservation criteria and other factors, the admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses are done.

Conclusion

The expected NEET PG 2024 Branch-wise Cutoff is curated based on previous years' trends and reflects the competitive landscape for medical aspirants. The anticipated cutoffs offer insight into the potential scores required for various specializations. However, it's essential to note that these cutoffs are subject to change due to factors like reservation policies, seat availability, and overall test-taker performance. As the NEET PG 2024 journey unfolds, adhering to cutoff criteria remains important for securing admission to desired medical colleges and branches.
