The National Board of Examinations will be announcing the NEET PG 2022 Cutoff for various categories after the NEET PG Results are out. Only candidates who qualify the entrance test will be eligible for NEET PG Counselling. On the basis of the previous years’ NEET PG counselling rounds, we have come up with an expected closing rank for the branch listed below. The NEET PG closing Rank 2022 mentioned below for different branches is for deemed universities and till NEET PG Round 2 Counselling. There are chances that the candidates with lower NEET PG ranks may get admission in the branch of their choice in Round 3 NEET PG counselling and mop up rounds. Also, if there are still vacant seats NBE will conduct NEET PG 2020 mop-up round or extra vacancy round.

NEET PG 2022 Cutoff Highlights

NBA releases a separate cutoff for 50% of the total seats under the All India Quota (AIQ). Candidates clearing the required cutoff will get admissions as per the AIQ seats in medical colleges across the country.

  • The aspirants receive the NEET PG Cut off in terms of opening and closing ranks

  • Candidates obtaining a minimum of 50th percentile (General category) are eligible for admission

  • For candidates from SC/ST and OBC backgrounds, the minimum mark is 40th percentile

  • NEET PG 2022 Counselling will take place as per candidates’ rank in NEET PG 2022 All India Rank list, All India Quota 50% Category Rank, and State Quota Rank

What is NEET PG Cut off Tie-breaker?

The conducting exam authority has come up with a set of criteria for events where there may be a tie between two or more candidates securing the same scores in NEET PG. The deciding factor for who will be ranked higher involves the following in order of preference:

  • Applicant with the least number of wrong answers in all three sections combined i.e. Sections A + B + C will get the higher rank

  • Applicant scoring higher marks in Section C will be ranked higher

  • Candidate with the least number of wrong answers in Section C will be prioritized

  • Candidate obtaining more marks in Section B will rank higher

  • Applicant with the least number of wrong answers in Section B earns a higher rank

  • Candidate securing more marks in Section A will be ranked higher

  • Candidate with the lesser number of wrong answers in Section A is positioned higher in rank

  • An older applicant gets a higher rank

Factors Determining NEET PG 2022 Branch

Apart from NEET PG Rank, there are many other factors that play a dominant role in determining whether you will get a branch of your choice after qualifying the NEET PG exam. They are as follows:

  • The category of the candidate (if applicable)

  • The availability of seats

  • Total number of NEET PG counselling rounds, mop-up rounds, and whether they took place or not
