Taking a second chance at dreams is always a good thing. As Langston Hughes once said–

“Hold fast to dreams

For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly”

But, without proper planning, even a second chance will not produce the results wanted. The candidates who decide to take another complete year to prepare only for the NEET-UG exam and sit for it once again often do not realise where to start preparing. This is mainly because they thought that they had already studied everything and done enough. They often forget to question themselves and the pattern of their study before starting off on this journey for the second time.

In this article, all such candidates will not only find a preparation strategy that will help them achieve their best but also boost their confidence and take them straight to the top of the ranking list in NEET-UG 2024. Take a look at the NEET-UG study planfor further details.

NEET-UG 2024 Tips and Tricks– From Dropper to Topper

Here are some of the strategies that droppers can take note of that will invariably help them go from dropper to topper in a heartbeat.

Analysing what went wrong

For droppers, the NEET-UG exam has already been given once. But, they have been unable to crack it. Now, that must have some reason, right? Hence, the first foot forward in the drop year must be to find out what went wrong in the last exam. Accepting the reason behind the failure to clear the exam and working on the flaws revealed is a great idea for all droppers.

Acceptance of the weaknesses and working tirelessly to rectify them becomes much easier with the help of theNEET-UG 2024 Question Paper Analysis and the Previous Years’ Question Papers, all available in one place for the benefit of the aspirant. Once the candidate solves the previous year’s question paper again and understands where they scored low, nothing can stop them from topping the exam in 2024.

Do not be afraid of mistakes

Once the candidate has made a list of all the problem areas that have led to a low score in NEET-UG 2024, the aspirant has to go over them one-by-one. Spending some extra time on revising certain concepts where you feel there is a lack of knowledge is a good idea. If there are doubts, this is the time to clarify them and work on them. Since there is one whole year for further preparation, this list of problem areas can be long or short. The aim should be to make sure not a single problem area remains unsolved by the time NEET-UG 2024 dates are revealed. Taking a look at the Best Books for NEET-UGcan be a boon at this stage because these might be able to clear all the doubts and provide further insight to the aspirant.

Taking help

Asking for help is not such a bad thing. Since this exam has already been attempted once, familiarity is there. But, familiarity is also a double-edged sword. This is because often aspirants cannot identify where they are going wrong in a familiar environment. Taking the help of a mentor can come in handy when the situation is such. This will help in gaining a new perspective, clearing doubts, and carry on with the revision process in a systematic manner. Taking a look at the Best Coaching Centres for NEET-UG 2024is the right way to ask for help.

NEET 2024 Timetable Change

Even if an aspirant takes the help of a mentor by getting enrolled in a coaching centre for NEET-UG 2024, it is also equally important to denote time for self-study. With the long hours at the coaching centre already being a taxing experience, self-study seems unlikely. But, that is exactly what will carry you to the Toppers List 2024. Aspirants must dedicate at least 6-8 hours to self-study regularly. The abundance of time on hand because of a full year only being spent on an exam does not mean that aspirants can waste their time. Prepare a new timetable that helps you manage your time to the best of your abilities and keep a journal handy where you keep track of all the reasons why certain days have according to the timetable, while on other days, the timetable has not been followed properly.

Fill in the gaps

The first half of the drop year is the ideal time to bridge the gaps left in the previous year by covering all the remaining syllabus and going through the chapters one by one, highlighting all the areas that have not been covered last year and rounding up all the doubts in those sections. Strengthen your weak spots and improve your time management skills. Keep the NEET UG 2024 handy for proper revision.

Mock Tests are key

The most important preparation strategyfor droppers is the number of NEET Mock Test 2024 that an aspirant can sit for, with proper preparation. In the last six months of NEET-UG preparation, revision and mock tests have to go hand in hand. Since the mock tests are usually of varying difficulties, they will help in bolstering confidence as well as preparing in a proper manner by showing exactly what level your expertise lies in.

Last but not least, keeping up the morale and remaining focused all through the year is a tough but effective way to make sure that you can go from dropper to topper in NEET-UG 2024. Stay positive and keep in touch with those who offer constructive guidance and support, egging you on towards your goal.
