Documents Required for TS LAWCET Counselling

The TS LAWCET 2024 counselling process is expected to commence in October or November 2024. The official notification for the counselling process will be released on the official website of TSCHE. Some important documents are required to participate in the TS LAWCET 2024 counselling. When the counselling begins, candidates have to register online for the counselling process, upload documents for verification and pay the counselling fees within the deadline. After the TS LAWCET 2024 counselling process is over, candidates will get admission to the five-year integrated law courses and the three-year Bachelor of Law (LL.B) program. Osmania University conducts the TS LAWCET counselling process. The counselling round is usually held in two phases, Phase 1 and Phase 2 and if there are vacant seats, another round of counselling is conducted. In each phase, candidates have to register themselves, upload the necessary documents required for counselling and pay the counselling registration fee.

The Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET) is conducted by Osmania University on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). There are some popular law entrance exams in India through which candidates are shortlisted for undergraduate law courses for 5-year and 3-year duration. Given below is the complete list of all the documents that are required for the TS LAWCET 2024 counselling process. Candidates who have passed the entrance exam and whose names appear on the merit list can participate in the counselling process by submitting the necessary documents. The admission will be put on hold or cancelled for those who fail to submit the important documents on time.

In case a student does not have his/ her mark sheet due to some reason, he/ she will be given provisional admission after producing a written statement from the principal of the school. The candidate will be allowed to appear for the semester exams only after he/ she has submitted all the documents by then.

Caste Certificate

The candidates who fall under various reserved categories such as SC, ST, and OBC (Category 1) have to submit their respective caste certificates that are issued by the concerned Jurisdictional Tehsildar. They will be provided admission for the reserved seats only upon producing the correct certificate.

Income Certificate

The income certificate is to be submitted by candidates whose total annual family income is less than Rs. 8 lacs per annum. The students of the GM, CAT-1, SC and ST categories must obtain separate income certificates. These certificates will be accepted only if they are issued by the concerned Tehsildar.

Telugu Medium Certificate

All the students who belong to the state of Telangana or have completed their schooling from a Telugu medium school from class 1 to 10 will be required to submit the medium certificate. The certificate should be issued by the Head of the respective educational institution and countersigned by the respective DDPI/ BEO.

Domicile Certificate

The students who have lived in the state of Telangana for 7 years or more are eligible to apply under the category of domicile candidates. Some seats are reserved for Telangana domicile candidates and in order to apply for admission through this category, the candidates will have to produce a valid domicile certificate.

Rural Study Certificate

The rural study certificate is to be submitted by the candidates who have spent at least ten full academic years (from standard 1 to 10) at any recognised rural educational institution. It should be issued by the head of the educational institution and countersigned by the respective DDPI/ BEO. These candidates will also have to submit an income certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar.

Affidavit

An affidavit signed by the candidate is required in case he/ she wishes to apply for any additional reservation or scholarship. Those who have a gap year after class 12th will also be required to submit an affidavit stating they did not take admission to any other college/ university in their gap year. 

Documents of Parents

Parents' study certificates/ Parents' domicile certificate/ Parents' hometown certificate/ Parents' employment certificate/ Parents' mark sheets/ Parents' degrees etc., are to be submitted by candidates seeking eligibility for the government seats based on the domicile/ education/ employment of their parents.

Identity Card

An identity card that is issued by the Jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner/ Rehabilitation Commissioner/ District Magistrate is required to be submitted by the candidates claiming eligibility for the government seats under the quota of Jammu & Kashmiri Migrants.

TS LAWCET mostly has only two phases of the counselling process. The second phase is generally the final phase. TS LAWCET 2020 also had only 2 phases of counselling processes. If more counselling phases are organised, they are notified by the conducting body.
