Established in 2013 in Guwahati, Assam, Royal Global University is one of the most prestigious universities in India and the fifth private university in Assam. Even though Royal Global University didn't make it to the NIRF ranking, it is slowly but surely establishing its presence in the educational sector, as can be seen in its performance in other significant rankings.

If what Royal Global University claims is true, then it surely does an excellent job of connecting academic learning with real-world industry experience. Through various initiatives like internships, industry visits, and guest lectures, students gain practical skills and insights. Plus, with an academic curriculum on par with international standards, Royal Global University stands strong among top universities.\

Royal Global University Infrastructure

Classrooms:

Royal Global University offers spacious and air-conditioned classrooms. These rooms are equipped with modern audio-visual teaching aids, making lectures and presentations more engaging and effective. 

Library:

Royal Global University's library offers a vast array of resources, including books, study areas, and e-books for all departments, from engineering to hotel and tourism management. It's one of the most advanced libraries in the region and nationally, catering to 23 schools and more than 130 courses. With a collection of around 25,000+ books, it also features a special North-East collection, a competitive books corner, and a fiction/nonfiction corner.

Hostels:

At Royal Global University, the student dorms are all about comfort and convenience. Nestled in a green campus, there are separate hostels for male and female students, each packed with facilities for all-round growth. Plus, they're just a stone's throw away from the classrooms, making it easy for students to catch up with teachers even during holidays. The dorms are air-conditioned and laid out in a way that makes it easy to hang out with friends. However, some students feel that the rules and regulations of the women's hostel at Royal Global University are biassed. They point out that while male students can go out and return by 7, girls can only go out on weekends and must return earlier. They also lament the strict rules prohibiting them from eating out.

Cafe/Hang-out:

The Royal Global University cafeterias are great spots for students to relax and rejuvenate after hectic classes. There are a variety of dining options, from traditional eateries to modern coffee shops. The five cafeterias serve meals made from local, eco-friendly ingredients. Plus, the staff is always friendly.

Our Take:
It seems like Royal Global University is a great place to study. It has large, tech-friendly classrooms for easy learning. The library is packed with books and resources. The hostels are comfortable and close to classes, and the cafeterias offer tasty food. However, some students have expressed concerns about the strict rules in the women's hostel, which they feel are more restrictive than those for the men's hostel.

Internships

The Royal Centre for Corporate Relations (RCCR) at Royal Global University helps students get internships in government, semi-government, and private sectors. They also hold practice group discussions, interviews, and online tests. Internships, which can be part-time or full-time, paid or unpaid, are part of the Royal Global University course. Some last between two and six weeks, while others are longer. The RCCR also sets up chats with former students so current students can learn from their experiences. 

Placements 

Royal Global University offers placement assistance to students upon completion of their degree or diploma. Over 300 recruiters participate in the RGU placement drive to offer jobs to the students. From the first year, students are prepared for jobs and placements through career fairs and alumni connections. By the second year, they undergo placement training. This way, students get to know about many job opportunities from top companies. As per the students, on average, over 800 offers are made during the Royal Global University placement drive, with 60% to 70% of students securing jobs. The salary packages offered range from INR 7 LPA to INR 15 LPA.

Students are well-prepared for these opportunities, with training starting in the first year. The result is promising, with 60% to 70% of students landing jobs with good salary packages. 

Royal Global University Faculty

Students at Royal Global University have different views about the faculty. Some students praise the teachers for being helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. They appreciate the quality of teaching and the timely completion of the syllabus. However, some students feel the teaching focuses too much on textbook knowledge and not enough on overall development. There are also reports about some teachers, despite being highly qualified, lacking effective teaching skills.

Royal Global University is located on National Highway 37. It's a large campus, covering 27 acres and offering 12 lakh sq. ft. of air-conditioned space for different courses. It's also conveniently located. The nearest airport is just 17.0 km away, and the quickest route to the Guwahati train station is only 10 km, which is about a 32-minute drive.
