The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test or Karnataka TET or KARTET exam is conducted by the School Education Board of Karnataka. As per new government rules of the state government of Karnataka, Centralised Admission Cell (CAC) Bangalore has been authorised to conduct the KARTET 2019 exam. While the official notification of 2019 Karnataka TET is yet to be announced, education experts are of the opinion that KARTET 2019 will be held in the month of November. With so little time at hand, aspiring candidates for KARTET should be familiar with the eligibility criteria, important dates, application process, syllabus & exam pattern of Karnataka TET exam.

School Education Board of Karnataka had conducted the KARTET 2018 on February 03, 2019 and the KARTET result was announced on May 28, 2019. The difficulty level of the exam can be gauged from the fact that in 2018 a meagre pass percentage of Karnataka TET 2018 12.6% was witnessed.

About Karnataka TET Exam

Karnataka TET is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment of primary and upper primary teachers in government schools across the state. You must note that Karnataka TET is just an eligibility exam, and the candidates must clear Karnataka TET to appear for Teacher Recruitment Exam conducted by the state government. Candidates willing to appear for Karnataka TET must register on the official website of School Education Board of Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka TET 2019

Only eligible candidates from Karnataka state are allowed to apply for Karnataka TET 2019. The detailed Karnataka TET 2019 eligibility criteria is elaborated below -

Age Limit: The lower age limit of the applicants should be 18 years, and the upper age limit will be around 35 to 40 years (relaxation in upper age limit will be given to reserved category candidates).

Karnataka TET 2019 Educational Qualification:

Educational Qualification for Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)

Educational Qualification for Upper Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)

  • The minimum qualification required for the Primary Teachers is Intermediate (Class 12) with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
  • Candidates must have passed Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education with at least 45 – 50% of marks.
  • Candidates pursuing final-year D.EI.Ed/ Bachelor of Elementary Education are also eligible to apply for Karnataka TET 2019.
  • The minimum qualification required for Upper Primary Teachers is Bachelor’s degree (B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ B.Tech/ BBA etc.,) with at least 45% - 50% of qualifying marks.
  • The candidates must have passed Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed)/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) to be eligible for the post of Upper Primary Teacher.
  • Candidates pursuing final-year D.EI.Ed/ B.Ed are also eligible to appear for Karnataka TET 2019.

Karnataka TET Application Form 2019 – Apply Online

Karnataka TET 2019 online application process will begin towards the end of November.

Candidates can submit the application form for Karnataka TET 2019 only through the official website of School Education Board of Karnataka or apply for Karnataka TET here - http://www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in/

Application Fee of Karnataka TET 2019

Depending on the qualification and eligibility criteria of Karnataka TET 2019, candidates can apply for Paper I/ Paper II/ both. The application of fee of Karnataka TET 2019 can be checked below -

Note: Candidates may have to enter the Hall Ticket/ Certificate Number/ Roll Number of Class 10 in the online application form.

  • Click on the ‘Karnataka TET 2019’ link on the homepage of the official website.
  • Proceed with the online application

  • The details include Personal Details, Academic/ Education Details and Declaration.
  • After filling the above details, upload the required documents (mostly passport size photograph and signature).
  • Pay the Karnataka TET 2019 exam fee.
  • Take the printout of application form for future reference.

Exam Pattern of Karnataka TET 2019

Karnataka TET 2019 exam is divided into Paper I and Paper II. Candidates aspiring to become Primary Teachers must appear for Paper I. On the other hand, candidates willing to become upper primary teachers must appear for Paper II. Candidates with relevant educational qualification can apply for Paper I and II. Note: - The syllabus for Mathematics, Science and Social Studies will not be beyond school level. Therefore, the candidates must focus more on school syllabus from Class 6 to 10.

Admit Card for Karnataka TET 2019

Karnataka TET 2018 admit card will be available for download on the official website of Karnataka TET once the KARTET notification is out. Candidates can then download Karnataka TET 2019 admit card from the School Education Board of Karnataka website. The candidates can download the admit card for Karnataka TET 2019 by following the steps mentioned below -

  • Visit the official website, i.e., http://www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in/
  • Under the 'Latest News' section, click on the link that indicates 'Download Admission Ticket for KARTET 2019'.
  • A new page will open
  • Enter the 'Application Number' and Captcha code
  • Click on 'Submit'
  • Your KARTET 2019 admit card will be displayed
  • Download the admit card

After downloading the admit card, take the printout of the same. Karnataka TET 2019 admit card will contain details such as personal details of candidates, date of exam, venue of the exam, time of exam and instructions to follow. The candidates must read the instructions carefully printed on the Karnataka TET 2019 admit card.

Karnataka TET 2019 Important Dates

The School Education Board of Karnataka is yet to announce the official notification of Karnataka TET 2019. Selection Procedure of Karnataka TET 2019

Candidates who score the cut-off marks as mentioned above in Karnataka TET 2019 will be declared qualified. School Education Board of Karnataka will issue Karnataka TET eligibility certificate to the qualified candidates. These candidates are eligible for the state-level teacher recruitment exam.

The Validity of Karnataka TET 2019 Certificate

Karnataka TET 2019 certificate is valid for seven years. There is no limit on the number of attempts for Karnataka TET exam. Candidates can appear for the exam every year to improve their score.

Karnataka TET 2015 Results Issue

The High Court of Karnataka had given clearance to its pending decision on Karnataka TET 2015 results issue. The court pointed out discrepancies in results and directed the exam authority to declare the revised list of qualified candidates. The revised list of qualified candidates has been uploaded on the official website, i.e., http://www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in/ With the court case in the clear, Karnataka TET has resumed again in 2018.

Karnataka TET 2019 Answer Key

Karnataka TET 2019 answer key will be released by the Centralised Admission Cell Bangalore and the answer key will be uploaded on the official website of the School Education Board of Karnataka. After checking the Karnataka TET 2019 answer key, candidates can raise objections if any. In order to raise objections, the candidates must enter the Application Number and Date of Birth.

Result of Karnataka TET 2019

Karnataka TET 2019 results will be released in the second week of March 2020. The results will be uploaded on the official website of Karnataka School Education Board. Candidates can check the results with their admit card number/ hall ticket number. In 2018, approximately 2,39,863 candidates appeared for the Karnataka TET exam, and only 30,274 candidates cleared the exam. The overall pass percentage of Karnataka TET 2018 was just 12.6%.
