CBSE Class 10 & 12 Marking Scheme 2024: Every Educational Board in India releases its marking scheme based on its exam pattern. Marking scheme, in simple terms, can be defined as the method to award marks to the students for the answers written by them in their board answer sheets. The marking scheme is to be followed by the copy examiners. The CBSE marking scheme for classes 10 & 12 is released annually by the CBSE Board on its official website. It is advised that the students go through the CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2023-24 along with the CBSE Class 12 Exam Pattern 2023-24 and the marking scheme, to understand the latest pattern followed by the board and mould their preparations accordingly. CBSE Class 10 Marking Scheme 2024: Exam Pattern

CBSE Class 10 Board will be conducted at the end of the year for 80 marks and the internal performance of a student will be judged on 20 marks. Students need to return to their original answer writing orientation to perform well in the CBSE exams. Some key points to be noted about the CBSE 10 Marking Scheme 2024 are as follows:

  • CBSE Class 10 Board exams will be conducted on 100 Marks. Out of these, the theory paper will cover 80 marks while the 20 marks are allotted to the internal performance of the students.
  • CBSE 10th theory paper will constitute a variety of competency-based as well as descriptive questions.
  • There will be 40% MCQs, 20% will be competency-based questions and the remaining 40% will constitute subjective or short/long answer type questions.
  • The 20 marks for the internal assessment would be categorized under the following schemes: Periodic assessment (5 marks), Multiple assessments (5 Marks), subject enrichment activities (5 marks), and portfolio (5 marks).
  • The maximum time duration for the CBSE 10th Board exam will be 3 hours.

CBSE Class 12 Marking Scheme 2024: Exam Pattern

The CBSE Class 12 Board 2024 will be conducted at the end of the year for 80 marks and the practicals will be conducted for 20 marks. Class 12 exams will also be based on competency-based questions. Some key points to be noted about the CBSE Class 12 Marking Scheme 2024 are as follows:

  • CBSE Class 12 Board exams will be conducted on 100 Marks. Out of these, the theory paper will cover 80 marks while the 20 marks will be subjected to the internal performance of the students.
  • CBSE 12th theory paper will constitute a variety of competency-based as well as descriptive questions.
  • Competency-based questions will constitute 50% of the total questions followed by 20% MCQ-type questions. Short and long-answer type questions will constitute 30% of the question paper.
  • The 20 marks for the internal assessment would be categorized under the following schemes: Periodic assessment (5 marks), Multiple assessments (5 Marks), subject enrichment activities (5 marks), and Practicals (5 marks).
  • The maximum time duration for the CBSE 12th Board exam will be 3 hours.

Guru Nanak College of Education for Women is an Educational College. The primary programme provided by the college is a two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme with a seat intake of fifty seats. It is a regular programme.
