CBSE Board 2026 Overview

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. Every year, lakhs of students appear for the exams. the board is going to conduct the board exams for class 10 and class 12 (Science, commerce, and Arts) from February 17, 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the tentatice date sheet for class 10th and 12th. The class 10th exams will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will be from February 17 to March 09, 2026 and the second phase will be conducted from May 15 to June 01, 2026.

CBSE Class 10, 12 Syllabus 2025-26

The Central Board of Secondary Education has uploaded the 10th and 12th Board Syllabus 2026 on its official website. Students can download the subject-wise PDFs of the syllabus to note the topics that will be asked in the examination. CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2025-26 for all the subjects can be downloaded from the official website. The subjects are classified into three categories language subjects, Main subjects, and additional elective subjects. The questions in the board exams will be based on the syllabus set by the CBSE. Students can download the syllabus for the subjects they have opted for. For class 12, the syllabus for subjects of all streams is listed on the official website of CBSE. The sections that have been deleted from the CBSE Class 12 Syllabus 2025-26 have been mentioned in a separate section in the syllabus PDF.

CBSE Board Registration Form 2026

Students who are in classes 10th and 12th in a CBSE board-affiliated school are required to fill in the CBSE Class 10 Registration Form 2026 and CBSE Class 12 Registration Form 2026 as a prerequisite to appear in the final examination. The registration for class 10 and 12 regular students is done by the school authorities. The CBSE Board registration form can be filled out online on its official website by private students. The details that are to be mentioned while filling out the registration form include Name, Date of Birth, Father’s name, Subjects taken, etc. These details should be entered carefully as they will appear on the admit card and the final mark sheet as well.

CBSE Class 10, 12 Admit Card 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education will issue the Admit card for Class 10th and 12th board exams to students who complete their registration process. Students appearing for the exam will be required to collect their CBSE admit cards from their respective schools. Board exams for both Classes 10th and 12th students are scheduled to begin in February 2026. Schools will have to enter their Affiliation number as User ID and password to access the CBSE admit card. The admit card must carry the respective school's stamp as well as the Principal's signature. CBSE Class 10, 12 Exam Pattern 2026

One of the most important aspects of the CBSE Board 2026 exam is the latest examination pattern. CBSE follows a one-term examination system wherein the examinations are conducted at the end of the academic year. As per the current examination pattern, the theory exams will be conducted for 80 marks and 20 marks will be allocated for practicals. Students will have to score a minimum of 33% marks to pass the exam. This pattern is applicable for both classes 10th as well as 12th.     CBSE Class 10 and 12 Passing Marks 2026

    In Class 10, all the subjects are of 100 marks. Out of 100, students need to score a minimum of 33 marks. The subjects are divided into theory and practical exams. The theory exam will be of 80 marks and practical exam will be of 20 marks. Out of 80 marks, students need to score at least 26 marks. Also Read - CBSE Class 10 Passing Marks 2026

    For CBSE Class 12, some subjects have a theory exam of 70 marks and some are of 80 marks. In both the cases, there is a practical exam or internal assessment for 30 and 20 marks respectively.     CBSE Class 10 and and 12 Answer Key 2026

    After the completion of board exams, CBSE releases the answer keys for each of the subjects of classes 10th and 12th. The answer keys will be made available on the board’s website.     CBSE does not provide the toppers name. The board has taken this step from the academic year 2023-24 to take off the pressure of rankings from students.
