Direct Admission Process for M.Ed
In this method, admissions are given directly on the basis of performance in the previous degree level. If the candidate scores above a specified mark, they are given admissions directly. This process is followed in very few institutes and mostly in newly established universities.
Entrance Exam Based Admissions for M.Ed
Most of the top Indian public and private universities in India follow this method to grant admission in the M.Ed course. The candidates who have a minimum required mark in the previously specified degrees are asked to appear for an entrance examination at the institute. The merit list is made on the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination. The final admission is done on the basis of the merit list only. The fee for pursuing M.Ed is usually much higher in private universities than the state or central government public universities. For example, the fee of M.Ed in Lovely Professional University (LPU) is 79,000 and 86,000 in Amity University; the fee of the same course in Jamia Milia Islamia is 7,300 and in the University of Calcutta, the fees are around 6,500. The students are requested to surely keep a check on the fee structure of the university as well before joining with the other factors such as infrastructure, faculty, placement opportunities etc.
M.Ed Syllabus & Course Pattern
Different universities set the syllabus for M.Ed differently as per their educational practices. Still, there are some common subjects which are taught in every university which are as follows:

Students of the M.Ed course have both theoretical and practical practices to study. Generally, the theory portion is 70% of the course and the practical portion is 30%.
