The University of Delhi conducts its law admissions every year for offering courses at the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate level. Candidates seeking admission to the programmes of Bachelor of Law (LLB) or Master of Law (LLM) can find all the details of DU law admissions 2022 here along with the eligibility criteria and selection process for both the programmes. 

The University of Delhi will likely hold the DU LLB 2022 entrance exam around the final week of July 2022 or the first week of August 2022. The deadline for applying for the DU LLB and LLM was previously extended by the institution until June 30, 2022. The DU LLB & LLM 2022 application form can be submitted online at admission.uod.ac.in by suitable candidates. The DU LLB 2022 entrance exam, which is a component of the DU Entrance Test, will be administered online by National Testing Agency (NTA). The DU LLB 2022 entrance exam will be conducted all over the nation using an online format. English language comprehension, analytical skills, general knowledge, and legal awareness and aptitude make up the DU LLB entrance test 2022 syllabus whereas the DU LLM syllabus covers topics like constitutional law, the law of contracts, the law of torts, criminal law, family law, intellectual property law, and others, will be the basis for the questions in the DU LLM entrance exam 2022.

The DU LLB and DU LLM entrance exam is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for enrollment in the three-year LLB and two-and-a-half-year LLM programs provided by Delhi University's Campus Law Center, Law Centre-I, and Law Centre-II. In excess of 18 test cities across India participate in the national exam. 2,888 LLB seats and 125 LLM seats at Delhi University's three law centers will be filled through the entrance exam. The DU Law Centres' law program currently has 3013 seats available for admission.

DU LLB and LLM Eligibility Criteria 2022

Clearing the eligibility criteria for DU LLB and DU LLM admissions is extremely important for any candidate who aspires to pursue any of these courses from the university. The University of Delhi accepts the application forms of only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for its LLB and LLM courses. It cancels the application form of any student who fails to qualify the conditions of admission set by the varsity. Check the detailed DU LLB and LLM eligibility criteria given below.

DU LLB Eligibility Criteria 2022

  • The candidate must have completed his/ her graduation in any stream from a recognised university that has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

  • It is essential for the student to have received passing marks in all the subjects that he/ she has in the undergraduate degree.

  • The aggregate score of the students belonging to the general category in graduation must be at least 50 per cent.

  • Students of the OBC category should not have less than 45 per cent marks in their bachelor's degree.

  • In their undergraduate degree, the students of the SC or the ST category should have scored a minimum of 40 per cent marks in aggregate

  • DU gives relaxation of 5 per cent marks to the students of the CW category. This category includes candidates who are widows/ wards of ex-servicemen/ serving personnel category. hence, their aggregate score in the qualifying degree has to be at least 45 per cent.

  • Similarly, the candidates who come under the PH category are given 5 per cent relaxation in their aggregate score. Thus. their marks in graduation must not be less than 45 per cent when taken in aggregate.

DU LLM Eligibility Criteria 2022

  • The candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree in law. This includes LLB or any integrated law course of five years.

  • The university from which the student obtains his/ her undergraduate law degree must be recognised and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI).

  • It is mandatory for the student to have received passing marks in the exams of all the subjects that he/ she has at the graduation level.

  • The aggregate score of the students belonging to the general category in graduation must be at least 50 per cent.

  • Students of the OBC category should not have less than 45 per cent marks in their bachelor's degree.

  • In their undergraduate degree, the students of the SC or the ST category should have scored a minimum of 45 per cent marks in aggregate

DU LLB and LLM Selection Process 2022

The selection of applicants for the LLB and LLM courses offered at the University of Delhi (DU) is done through the entrance exams conducted by the university. DU organises the following exams for its law admissions:

The scores obtained by candidates in these exams determine whether they will get a seat in their desired law course at the Delhi University or not. A merit list of DU LLB and LLM is released by the university on the basis of which candidates are selected.

There are multiple stages involved in the DU LLB and DU LLM admission process, including completing the registration form, downloading the admit card, taking the exam, and downloading the results. Below is a detailed description of each step of the DU LLB and DU LLM selection process:

Complete the online application cum registration form: The initial step is to register online through Delhi University's official website. In order to apply online, the candidate must set up a login ID and password. Once the login ID and password have been established, the applicant must submit an online application on Delhi University's official website. A candidate must fill out an application by providing personal and academic information, uploading any required paperwork, and paying the application cost. For unreserved/OBC/CW applicants, the DU LLB application cost for 2022 is Rs 750, while SC/ST/PwD/EWS applicants must pay Rs 300.


Download the Admit Card: The DU LLB and LLM entrance exam admit card must be downloaded from the official website by candidates. To download the admit card, applicants must provide information like their application number and birthdate. A required piece of identification to bring to the testing location is the DU LLB admit card.


Give the DU LLB/LLM exam: In the first week of August 2022 or around July 2022, the DU LLB and LLM Entrance Exam 2022 will be held. The entrance examination will be delivered online. The DU LLB  exam will have questions from areas including English, Analytical Abilities, Legal Awareness & Aptitude, and General Knowledge. The DU LLM 2022 exam will consist of law subjects studied by candidates during their undergraduate law course (3-year or 5-year LLB program).


Examine the Answer Key: On the exam's official website, the DU LLB answer key 2022 will be made available in an online format. A download link will also be provided on this page. Candidates can use their application number and birthdate to check and obtain the answer key. Candidates can get a sense of the score they can achieve on the exam with the aid of the DU LLB and DU LLM answer keys. This will then provide them access to their prospects of admission; the cutoff from the previous year can be checked to see the minimum grades required for admission by category.


Check your Scorecard/Result: The DU LLB and LLM results for 2022 will be made public on the exam's official website. Both a scorecard and a merit list representing the results will be made available online for all the candidates. All applicants who pass the law exam must next show up for counseling, the final stage of the admission process.

Appearing for the Counselling session and Admission Confirmation: All exam-qualified applicants are given seats in the DU LLB and DU LLM counseling sessions based on merit. Registration, the release of acceptance lists, document verification, and the payment of the first-semester fee by the candidates are all steps in the DU LLB counseling process that serve to confirm admission.

DU LLB and LLM Admissions 2022: Points to Remember

The law aspirants who are looking forward to applying for the UG or PG course of law provided at the University of Delhi must go through the important points of DU law admissions 2022. This will help them in getting a good understanding of the admission process.
