Banking Exams After 12th Commerce

After completing 12th commerce, students can make a career in the banking sector by appearing in commerce entrance exams conducted by IBPS/ SBI or any other bank. After the government competitive exams after 12th commerce, the cut-off marks get decided based on the merit list and then banks are allocated to the candidates.

While candidates can appear for some of the below mentioned exams after 12th commerce, some of the banking exams will require graduation as the eligibility criteria. Here are some other entrance exams after 12th commerce - 


SAT or Scholastic Assessment Test is one of the standard entrance tests adopted by the United States for enrollment in colleges and universities in the US. The test is conducted by the Educational Testing Service and developed by the College Board. Apart from the US colleges and universities, aspirants can apply for Canada, UK, Australia, and Singapore colleges and universities.


CLAT or Common Law Admission Test is held for applicants seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs, such as the five-year integrated BA LL.B, BBA LL.B, B.Com LL.B, B.Sc LL.B, and LL.M law courses provided by 22 NLUs. 

CLAT will be a comprehension-based paper that will test an individual's legal aptitude, abilities, and knowledge. The Consortium of NLUs administers the CLAT national-level law test annually. Other than NLUs, top universities such as NMIMS-Mumbai, UPES Dehradun, the Institute of Law, and Nirma University Ahmedabad also recognize CLAT scores.


Alliance University will administer the Alliance Common Law Admission Test (ACLAT) for admission to the LLM program. The AUSAT test will be used to determine admission to BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) courses (Alliance University Scholastic Aptitude Test). 

Aside from the entrance exam and the PI, Alliance School of Law of Alliance University also considers scholastic and extracurricular records while making admission decisions. The candidate's final selection will be based on their overall performance in the Admission Selection Process.


CUSAT CAT is administered yearly by Cochin University of Science and Technology for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offered by the University's associated institutes. Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, Law, Management, Commerce, and Computer Applications will all be available for enrollment.


NCHMCT JEE is a leading hotel management entrance test for students seeking admission to various undergraduate degrees offered by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology's affiliated colleges/institutes.

NCHMCT JEE is open to those who have completed class 10+2 from a recognized board. Those who crack the NCHMCT JEE can acquire admission in B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration for a rewarding career in Hotel Management.


The National Institute of Fashion Technology administers the NIFT entrance test to grant admission to NIFT colleges' UG and PG design programs. More than 20,000 aspirants every year take the NIFT entrance test for enrollment in several Undergraduate and Postgraduate Fashion and Technology programs. 

The NIFT final result is based on the candidates' performance in the written test, Situation Test, Group Discussion, and Interview.

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level test used to evaluate if applicants are qualified for positions such as Assistant Professor, Lectureship, or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The UGC NET Exam is executed twice a year and is one of the most popular entrance exam for commerce students and aspirants from other streams as well.

UPSC Civil Services Exam

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a national competitive examination held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit candidates for the Civil Services of the Government of India. 

The Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others, are all recruited. The UPSC Civil Services examination consists of a preliminary exam, the main exam, and a personality test (face-to-face interview).

IPPB Exam 

India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) is a subsidiary of the Ministry of Communication's Department of Posts. The bank's mission is to provide adequate banking services to the country's residents. The bank undertakes IPPB recruitment to fill various jobs such as Officers in Scale II, III, IV, and V, Territory Manager, Strategy roles, etc.

The recruiting drive attracts many applicants who want to work for the bank and is one of the popular bcom entrance exams.


CTET or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test is used to determine the eligibility of prospective teachers. Applicants who pass the exam will be declared eligible to teach in various schools in grades I through VIII. The exam is divided into two parts, Paper I and Paper-II. The Paper I test is for elementary teachers, whereas the Paper-II exam is for secondary teachers. Students must pass this exam to appear in teacher recruitment tests held by Kendriya Vidyalayas or central government institutions. Aside from CTET, many states regulate the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test), which is state-specific.

CDS Exam 

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) regulates the UPSC CDS entrance test twice a year to select candidates who would serve the nation in the Defense services. UPSC CDS Part I and Part II are held for aspirants interested in joining the Indian Air Force, Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, or Officers Training Academy. 

Aspirants must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized Indian university to apply for the UPSC CDS examination.


The Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Examination, popularly known as SSC CGL, is a national-level exam held to recruit applicants for various positions in the Government of India's Ministries, Departments, and Organizations. 

To be eligible to take the SSC CGL, aspirants must have graduated from a recognized university. Candidates must pass Tiers I, II, III, and IV with a high score to be considered for recruitment to various positions.
