MAHA TET Exam 2023

MAHA TET 2023: The notification regarding MAHA TET 2023 is expected to be released in the month of September 2023. The application process will begin immediately after the exam notification is released on the official website of MAHA TET - mahatet.in. MAHA TET exam was last conducted in 2021 and concluded in 2022. The Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) is administered by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination to applicants who wish to pursue careers as teachers. Candidate recruitment for primary and higher primary schools in Maharashtra is carried out with the aid of this entrance exam. The class one to five teaching eligibility portion and the class six to eight teaching eligibility portion of this exam are each divided into two separate sections. Students who are interested may apply for either one or both papers. 

Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) conducts the MAHA TET i.e. Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test to determine the eligibility of candidates aspiring to become teachers for Maharashtra schools. Candidates willing to apply for the exam can check the Maharashtra TET Form 2023 online once the MAHA TET 2023 notification is released. Candidates will be provided with the latest notification, exam date and time, and other important information at mahatet.in. The Maharashtra TET exam will take place in two shifts. The first shift will be for classes 1 to 5 and exam will start from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm. Whereas, the second shift exam will be for classes 6 to 8 conducted in the second shift from 2.00 pm to 04.30 pm. 

The applicants will take either both exams or just one, depending on their preference. MAHA TET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants for the Maharashtra TET should be Indian citizens.
  • In order to be given preference in the seat matrix, applicants must reside in the state of Maharashtra.
  • The applicants must have received at least 45% of the possible points in their senior secondary or equivalent test.
  • Maharashtra TET 2023 has a maximum age limit of 35 years and a minimum age requirement of 18.
  • A candidate for paper two must have earned a minimum of 60% in their undergraduate degree or be a four-year Bachelor of Teaching graduate or candidate.
  • Applicants who have completed or are enrolled in a 2-year teaching degree programme.
  • Candidates who passed or are scheduled to pass the entrance exam for the Upper Primary Section (6-8) with a 50% score can also apply.

MAHA TET 2023 eligibility criteria for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are as follows:

Given below are the eligibility criteria for Paper 1 and Paper 2 of Maharashtra TET 2023 exam;

MAHA TET Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)

  • The minimum qualification required for the Primary Teachers is Intermediate (Class 12) with 50% marks and 45% for reserved category candidates.

  • Candidates must have passed Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education with at least 45 – 50% of marks.

  • Candidates pursuing final-year D.EI.Ed/ Bachelor of Elementary Education are also eligible to apply for MAHA TET 2023.

  • Candidates with a B.Ed degree can also apply for MAHA TET 2023 Paper 1.

MAHA TET Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)

  • The minimum qualification required for Upper Primary Teachers in Maharashtra is a bachelor’s degree (B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ B.Tech/ BBA etc.,) with at least 45% to 50% of qualifying marks.

  • The candidates must have passed (D.EI.Ed)/(B.Ed) to be eligible for the post of Upper Primary Teacher.

  • Candidates pursuing final-year D.EI.Ed/ B.Ed are also eligible to appear for MAHA TET 2023.


MAHA TET Application Form 2023 

In order to appear in the Maharashtra TET examination, the aspirants will need to apply online mode. Here are the steps you must follow in order to appear for the MAHA TET 2023.

STEP 1- Online Registration

  • Check out the box next to ‘I have read all the above instructions and want to fill out an application for the Teacher Ability Test’. Click on ‘New Registration’ to fill out the registration form.
  • Provide the information carefully and click on ‘Submit’. The Registration number and password of the candidate will be sent on the email id and mobile no. provided in the registration form.
STEP 2– Fill out the Application Form
  • Fill in the candidate’s Name and parents’ name.
  • Enter the Class 10th certificate no. and the passing year.
  • Fill in the Aadhar registration number.
  • Select Nationality. Click ‘YES’ If you are a resident of Maharashtra state.
    Fill candidate’s details including house no., street no., area, name of city/town, and pin code. If the candidate is not a resident of Maharashtra, select another state and specify the district with zip code.
  • Carefully select the caste category from the drop-down menu.
  • Application-level (Paper 1/ Paper 2) - choose the exact category from the dropdown menu for which the Eligibility Test is to be given. Paper 1 is for applicants eligible for classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 is for applicants eligible for classes 6 to 8. Candidates can also select ‘both’ if they want to appear for both exams.
  • The medium of exam selected by the candidates for the MH TET will be accepted as the first language of the exam.
  • Carefully select the language. If the first language is selected in English, the second language has to be necessarily Marathi.

STEP 3 - Uploading the photograph and signature

  • Photograph should be 3.5cm*4.5 cm 100 KB in size.
  • Scan the image that fits 5Kb to 100Kb.
  • Scan the signature (with black ink), and the dimension should not be more than 2Kb to 50Kb.
STEP 4 - Preview Of Application Form
  • Click on the ‘Preview’ tab to check the information provided in the application form. 
  • To make any changes, click on ‘EDIT’ and update the details. Click on the ‘Preview’ button to confirm the information and ‘‘Submit’.
  • Once the fee is submitted, no changes can be done.
STEP 5 - Payment of Examination Fee
  • Offline mode of payments are not accepted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination. Candidates can either pay through debit card, credit card, internet banking or UPI.

    STEP 6 - Application Print Out

  • Take the printout of the completed MAHATET application form.
  • Fill out your educational qualification (including HSC, degree, postgraduate and other educational qualifications, information about course, board/university, passing year, marks obtained, percentage/ grade/ percentile).
  • Provide your professional qualification (which includes information on the diploma in education for Paper 1). Mention the name of diploma, university/ examination board, passing year, marks obtained, and percentage.

Note: Candidates are advised to take a printout of the completed application form with all their details filled in. The application form may come into use for further recruitment processes.

Maharashtra TET Cutoff 2023

Below is a list of the Maharastra TET Cut off 2023.

  • The MAHA TET cutoff can alternatively be thought of as the minimum scores that all applicants must achieve in order to pass the test.
  • Separate announcements of the Paper 1 and Paper 2 Cutoffs will be made.

How to Challenge Maha TET 2023 Answer Key

Students who find any discrepancy in the answer keys released by Maha TET 2023 can raise their objection by submitting the valid documents. After evaluating the answer and documents provided by the students, the examination board will release the final answer keys. Students will also have to pay a certain amount to raise objections in the answer key.

MAHA TET 2023 Application Fee

  • To submit an application successfully, candidates must pay an application fee. Any online payment method, including a credit card, debit card, or internet banking, will be used to submit the application fee.
  • The application cost for general and OBC applicants is Rs. 500 for one paper and Rs. 800 for two papers.
  • The application cost for SC/ST applicants is Rs. 250 for one paper and Rs. 400 for two papers.

Maharashtra TET Admit Card 2023

  • Candidates can download the Maharashtra TET 2023 admit card from the official website of the organisation in charge of administering the test.
  • Around fifteen days prior to the start of the exam, applicants will receive their admit cards.
  • The admit card must be printed out by applicants.
  • Admit cards may include information like the candidate's roll number as well as personal information such as name, father's name, exam date, time, and location.
  • On the day of the exam, the admit card must be brought with you as a must.
  • No applicants will be permitted entry into the exam room without a valid admit card.

MAHA TET 2023 Latest Exam Pattern

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination made some changes in the MAHA TET exam pattern in the year 2019. It introduced two different papers under MAHA TET, wherein Paper-1 is conducted for aspirants who wish to teach classes 1-5, meanwhile, Paper-2 is conducted for those candidates who wish to teach classes 6-8. The changes brought in by the MSCE made it mandatory for the aspirants who wish to be a teacher for classes 1-8 to appear for both Paper-1 and Paper-2.

MAHA TET 2023 Paper-1 Exam Pattern

The candidates who wish to teach the students in classes 1-5, will need to appear for MAHA TET Paper-1. This paper will also be required for those aspirants who wish to teach classes 1-8. Here is the detailed MAHA TET Exam Pattern for Paper-1.

The MAHA TET Paper-1 exam pattern includes questions that will be asked in the MCQ format, each question carrying 1 mark. MAHA TET 2023 Paper-1 will be conducted for a total of 150 marks, divided equally between 5 topics, i.e. 30 questions each in every topic. The candidates will be given 1½ hours to attempt all the questions. Candidates will not be punished with negative markings for any wrong answers.

MAHA TET 2023 Paper - 2 Exam Pattern 

The MAHA TET Paper-2 is applicable for aspirants who wish to teach classes 6-8 as well as for those who wish to teach classes 1-8. The examination, like Paper-1, will be conducted for the posts of teachers available in the schools of Maharashtra. All candidates who are interested in sitting for the examination must note that they will be given 1 and a half hours to attempt all the questions.
