CMAT is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to many well known MBA colleges in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency. This year, CMAT was conducted on March 31 and the result of CMAT has been announced on April 9. Once the CMAT results are out, candidates can proceed to the official website of the college to know their cutoff. The cutoff of CMAT will allow the candidates to get an idea about their chances of getting a call from the prestigious B-School. What after CMAT 2021 Result?

After the result declaration, candidates will have to appear for the selection process of CMAT. The selection process of CMAT will vary from college to college. Candidates can visit the official website of CMAT to know the admission process. The selection/ admission process of CMAT will include Personal Interview (PI), Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Group Discussion (GD) rounds. All the admission rounds which will be conducted post the declaration of CMAT 2021 results are explained below.

Group Discussion (GD)

  • In this round, candidates will be divided into groups of 5-6 students

  • Each group will be provided with a case study/ topic to discuss

  • The group has to discuss the topic and come up with a solution.

  • Finally, they have to present their solutions/ ideas to the invigilators.

Written Aptitude Test (WAT)

This round is conducted to test the aptitude skills of the candidates. In this round, candidates will be provided with a set of questions. The aptitude test can contain questions from Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Grammar. It should be noted that not all colleges will conduct a Written Aptitude Test. Candidates can check the admission process of the selected college to know whether it conducts the Written Aptitude Test.

Personal Interview (PI)

  • The PI round tests the presentation & communication skills of the candidates.

Important Things to do After CMAT Result

Provided below are some of the important things that the candidates must do after the CMAT exam completion or after the CMAT result declaration

Prepare for WAT/ GD and PI

Candidates should note that their final selection will depend on their performance in group discussion, personal interview and written aptitude test. They can follow the tips provided below to prepare for the GD, PI and WAT rounds for the CMAT selection process.

  • Go through the commonly asked questions in the Personal Interview questions. This will allow them to get an idea about what type of questions are asked in the PI round.

  • Practise aptitude tests to get familiar with the exam pattern. 

  • Speak on any random topic for at least 15 to 20 minutes. This will help them improve their presentation and communication skills.

  • Read newspapers, novels and magazines on a regular basis.

  • Buy GD/ PI preparation books available in the market.

  • Stay updated with the current affairs/ important dates as the interviewer can ask questions from current affairs.
