CMAT is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to many well known MBA colleges in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency. This year, CMAT was conducted on March 31 and the result of CMAT has been announced on April 9. What after CMAT 2021 Result?

After the result declaration, candidates will have to appear for the selection process of CMAT. The selection process of CMAT will vary from college to college. The selection/ admission process of CMAT will include Personal Interview (PI), Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Group Discussion (GD) rounds. Group Discussion (GD)

• In this round, candidates will be divided into groups of 5-6 students

• Each group will be provided with a case study/ topic to discuss

• The group has to discuss the topic and come up with a solution.

• Finally, they have to present their solutions/ ideas to the invigilators.

Written Aptitude Test (WAT)

This round is conducted to test the aptitude skills of the candidates. In this round, candidates will be provided with a set of questions. The aptitude test can contain questions from Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Grammar. It should be noted that not all colleges will conduct a Written Aptitude Test. Candidates can check the admission process of the selected college to know whether it conducts the Written Aptitude Test.

Personal Interview (PI)

• The PI round tests the presentation & communication skills of the candidates.

• Candidates will have to answer the questions asked by the interviewer. 

• Usually, the interviewers ask questions about the families, hobbies, academics, choice of subject etc

Prepare for WAT/ GD and PI

Candidates should note that their final selection will depend on their performance in group discussion, personal interview and written aptitude test. They can follow the tips provided below to prepare for the GD, PI and WAT rounds for the CMAT selection process.

• Go through the commonly asked questions in the Personal Interview questions. This will allow them to get an idea about what type of questions are asked in the PI round.

• Practise aptitude tests to get familiar with the exam pattern. 

• Speak on any random topic for at least 15 to 20 minutes. This will help them improve their presentation and communication skills.

• Read newspapers, novels and magazines on a regular basis.

• Buy GD/ PI preparation books available in the market.

• Stay updated with the current affairs/ important dates as the interviewer can ask questions from current affairs.

Apply for Admission to Colleges Offering Direct MBA Admission

Candidates who have not scored good marks in the CMAT entrance exam can consider colleges that offer direct admission to the MBA program. Appear for Other MBA Entrance Exams

Apart from the CMAT exam, there are many other MBA entrance exams such as MAT, IIFT, XAT, CAT and SNAP. Candidates are advised to appear for at least 2-3 MBA entrance exams. This will allow them to apply to other MBA colleges if their CMAT entrance exam score is not upto the mark.
