XAT 2022 One-Year Study Plan
Planning out the preparation is one key area where many students lack. Check out some of the best tips to prepare a study plan for XAT 2022 listed below.
Start With A Mock Test
It is advisable when starting preparation to start with a Mock Test. Attempt a mock test and carefully analyse your performance including the section-wise time taken, number of correct and incorrect questions, topic-wise accuracy etc. This will provide you with an idea of your current level of knowledge and help you figure out the topics in which you are the strongest, essentially providing a strong foundation on which you can build your preparation strategy.
Make a Study Plan
After you have given a mock, start preparing your study plan for XAT 2022. Many students often feel confused and anxious at the sound of making a set plan as they feel like it has to be perfect. It doesn't. Even having a rough study plan or time-table would be vastly more beneficial than trying to hit a shot in the dark. Remember that your time table and plan can be edited in the future once you have a better idea of your requirements, which will happen once you start preparing.
Key Points to Note When Making a Study Plan
- Starting with a rough preparation plan is OK and it even can be more beneficial than wasting your time trying to make it perfect.
Make sure you are not overburdening yourself. The sound of studying 12 hours per day might sound nice but it can be extremely taxing in practice. Start slow and build up speed as you go.
Leave sufficient time for leisure and relaxation activities in your plan.
Break down your preparation time into smaller units and give yourself breaks in between study. Instead of having a continuous 6-hour study session, it is better to break it into 3 2-hour sessions.
Sample XAT 2022 Study Plan
Given below is a sample study plan for XAT 2022.
Section | Time |
Decision Making | 6 am to 8 am |
Verbal and Logical Ability | 6 pm to 8 pm |
Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation | 9 pm to 11 pm |
General Knowledge | Read Newspapers & Magazines |
This is a sample plan for candidates with a 6-hour study time every day. Adjust the preparation plan according to your daily schedule. The plan given above, for example, would be a good fit for a candidate who is preparing while maintaining a full-time job. When it comes to General Knowledge, it is better to constantly improve your knowledge of current affairs and subjects, and read about commonly asked topics when you find the time.
Collect Good Study Material
From good books to sample papers, previous year question papers, sample papers and question banks, having good quality study material would go a long way in helping you prepare better. Make sure you find good books after some research and also try to solve at least 2 full-length question papers per week.
Focus on Covering the Complete Syllabus
In order to get a good score in XAT 2022, it is vital to have knowledge of the complete syllabus. Later on, it can take a shift towards focusing more on your strength and choosing quality over quantity but, when following a one-year study plan, you will have enough time at hand to go over and practise the core concepts of the complete syllabus of XAT 2022.
Coaching vs Self-Study
One very important decision that a student has to face when starting preparation is whether to join a coaching class or go for self-preparation for home. Keep in mind that joining a good coaching class can certainly improve your score and chances of selection. However, do not do it just for the sake of it. If you have a good plan, studying for XAT 2022 from home is very much possible. Take a look at some of the popular coaching institutes you can consider at the link given below.
