Don't Leave it for the Last

For CLAT 2024, read the newspaper every day and make sure that you are well aware of the current affairs from 2020 to November / December 2023. Focus more on issues rather than news and make note of the most popular events in the past year or what’s happening around you. If you keep this section for the last, you are most likely to get confused rather than remember the events or news.

Limit Your Sources

Do not burden yourself with several sources of current affairs. Candidates often commit the mistake of wasting time on multiple newspapers. Commit to one and make judicious use of the internet. Refer to the best books for CLAT 2024 Current Affairs section.

Emphasise the Syllabus

While trying to cover this section extensively, do not forget to focus on the topics mentioned in the CLAT UG 2024 syllabus. After all, more passages should be expected from these topics.

Prepare your own Notes

Currents Affairs are all about one-liners or a maximum of 3-4 lines. Make your notes such that it is the easiest for you to understand and remember facts. Highlight all the important notes with ink of a different colour. The reason why making notes yourself plays a key role is that writing has been proven to be one of the best ways to remember anything. Also, remember that memorizing everything is not humanly possible.

Take Mock Tests or Online Quizzes

Solving current affairs and GK mock questions are the best way to ace this section. This will not only help you in getting an idea of the type of questions that will be asked but also assist in testing your preparation level or evaluating your progress. This should, however, be attempted only after being prepared to a certain extent.

Read Newspapers Daily

Candidates preparing for the Current Affairs section often find the Current Affairs section difficult as they are not able to answer questions. But, to crack this section, candidates have to stay updated with the latest news so that they can answer the questions asked from the Current Affairs and GK section. Reading newspapers daily is the most effective way to stay updated about both national and international events. Some of the important newspapers that will help you in your preparation are The Hindu, The Indian Express and The Telegraph.

Make Good Use of the Internet

The internet will give a chunk of data for everything but how are you going to decide which link to click on? The most relevant thing that you will find will be a number of General Knowledge pdfs that would certainly help you with the preparation for this section. Always check the credibility of the piece before getting down to studying it.

Read and Revise

Current Affairs keep piling up by the day, which makes everyday revision and reading mandatory. The notes will not only help in revision but also in retaining current events or news of the past year.
