CEED & UCEED Tie-Breaker Policy 2024: If you have recently taken the CEED & UCEED entrance exams, you are likely eagerly awaiting the results. But before they are out, it is essential to understand the tie-breaker policy. This policy comes into the picture when two or more students achieve the same score and is set by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. According to the UCEED tie-breaker policy, candidates with higher scores in Part B will secure a higher rank.
In the case of CEED, only students who qualify for Part B will receive a merit rank. This policy plays a crucial role in determining final rankings for the counselling process. IIT Bombay oversees both the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) and the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED). CEED is for postgraduate programs, while UCEED is for undergraduate ones. Both exams consist of two parts: A and B, each with its own marks distribution. Importantly, marks from both parts contribute to the final merit list. For a detailed understanding of the CEED & UCEED tie-breaker policy 2024, check out the full article.
UCEED Tie-Breaker Policy
The UCEED tie-breaker policy will be applied if two or more candidates score the same total marks. This policy is used to grant rank to the candidate which will help them seek admission to their dream college. Check out the policy below:
- The candidate who has scored higher marks in Part B of the entrance will be awarded a higher rank.
- However, if the first criterion does not help break the tie, a higher rank will be given to a candidate with more marks in section 2 of Part A.
- Even if both the above criteria do not constitute breaking the tie, then the candidate with a higher score in section 1 of Part A will be assigned a higher rank.
- Lastly, if the tie continues, then candidates will be awarded the same rank.

However, in case candidates secure the same total marks, the tie-breaker policy will be applied. The rank of the candidates will include both Part A & B marks.
